just get a 480fm made by jofa and ccm. In my opinion the 8500 is similar looking to the 480. except the 8500 has fatter bars and the cage itself looks ugly. the fit can be questionable but the rbk was made to be fit with the 480 so i would go with that cage.

Just put an 8500 on my 8K and it fits perfectly. No problems at all.

the 8500 might be a little wide on the 8k but the 8000 should fit perfectly. Both will work though, you just might need a slightly more open j-clip, the plastic ones should work just fine. If you have metal j-clips you might need to bend them outward.

as long as they are the plastic ones that flair out there shouldn't be any issue. On my 692, I had to switch j-clips to get the cage to work. Keep in mind that my helmet is a size large and so is the cage. Looks like the same setup would be needed for my large 8k, it will work... worse comes to worse a trip to the LHS and a couple bucks for new j-clips.

my cage is a large also im going to be using a large 8k also. Anyone use the 8500 on a intake, pictures?

Talk about a cheap hockey shop. My LHS wouldn't dream of charging me for small items like J clips. They know what side their bread is buttered on.

I should buy a new cage, there is about a 1 inch gap between the cage and the jclips

I got elbowed in the head once and it kinda hurt because the j-clips didn't stop any of the force

However, I currently use a medium and im not sure how much larger a large would be

getting a facemasks that comes out more should work. the itechs are very flat making it so that the chin cup hits ur chin before the mask can fully touch the j clips. The only itech that isnt flat is a 908 which is expensive if u get the titanium version. if not get a bauer 2000.

emailed ,y LHS and they told me it would not fit. I need to order it online because my LHS dose not have it in my team color. Can some one post a picture of this combo so i have some visual proof that this combo will work

If someone doest post up a picture then just buy a 8500 helmet or a new cage. a new cage is only like 25 bucks.
