I was polled by my arena manager thought it would be interesting to see what it's like at other rinks.

If you do have music, the tough part is getting the volume level right. If you have parents trying to teach their kids something loud music will make that difficult.

Bear in mind that if you have music there will be a constant stream of:

Can you change the radio station

I don't like this type of music

These lyrics offend me

Can you turn it down

Can you turn it up

Why are you playing music

Go without and see how many people ask for it.

my local rink does not have music during stick & puck time either..oddly enough, they do play gentle, classical music during "Learn To Skate" sessions... maybe to relax the people a little, make them feel graceful? haha.

Yeah, we had 50+ people out today, it was a mess. You have the 15 or so squirts who can't get out of people's way, and the 6 junior 'A' kids who go out every other shift; it gets hairy with a lot of people.

id consider that more shinny than stick and puck, where i dont have to do much skating except to retrieve lost pucks ;)
