What do you do in the off-season?

Recommended Posts

i was looking at another thread and i was a bit jealous that some of the people here have 40+ game seasons, but this thread brings me back. i play a fall season and a spring season, so if you make the finals, the offseason is about 3 weeks. so i dont have a true offseason and just play all year long. :)

Competition waterskiing. It's like weightlifting but in an incredible setting and too much fun. Such a rush. The last couple of years I skied like 30 days straight.

There is something to working out in water that really builds strong muscle fibers, but doesn't tax them as much. Sort of like what steriods do.

A lot of pro Canadian skiers play hockey, like world champ Jaret Lewellyn. Very related to skating.

I played summer hockey once and didn't like it. I think a break is a good thing.

Every year since ive been 9 ive only had one month off hockey and that is in june and i've never gotten sick of playing summer hockey, if you take the whole summer off and the players you compete against dont they will have the edge.

ive played 3vs3 hockey a couple of summers once a week and that was good fun also. for a player like me (who's not very creative) it really helps my vision on the ice.

Wake Boarding/Water Skiing: the only rec activity done without beer until we're done for the evening

amen brutha. Where are you riding?

Mountain biking for fun. Commuting to work by bike because it's better in the summer than the winter. :)
