mik3 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 BABIP actually is one of the best predicting stats their is. If it's too high or too low it will average out eventually. Beckett's BABIP was insane in 06, and that doesn't include all the HRs he gave up. It averaged itself out in 07 and he has the best season of his career. mack 44 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I'm not questioning the validity of it, I'm just saying there are way too many formulas for baseball. Part of the pain in me trying to watch it is hearing the roto people orgasm over stuff like that. I miss video sessions and keeping game charts.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 Yeah, for some reason I remembered 80. Even then, Ellsbury is a hype monster. He'll work an AB, but that's about it. I'd say him and Melky are pretty close in terms of value.mik, I realize it's still early, but I was wondering if you're willing to admit that Ellsbury is going to be good.Bear in mind that he is still considered a rookie, but he leads the AL in runs; is second in steals (19 of 20); is around 10th in OBP for those with enough AB's; and is on pace for around 12-14 homers. mik3 1 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 The way he was hyped you'd think he was going to hit .450 and chip in about 25hr because he had 3 in 30 games. He's going to be a good defender with a lot of speed for his career, but I don't see him as being much more.
mack 44 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 If that's the case, what do you expect Chamberlain to do?
mrusse01 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 Tigers are definatly going to be huge this yearEverybody seems to forget....DONTRELLE WILLIS ISN'T GOOD. And that was in a pitcher's park in a pitcher's league. Maggs isn't hitting close to .365 or 140 RBIs this yer. Bonderman regressed badly. Pudge will get about 7 walks all season. Todd Jones is the closer, nuff said. Seriously, who is going to pitch for these guys? Besides Verlander, their SP really is atrocious.Told ya so....looks like I was wrong about Verlander though, but I'm betting he figures it out.Yankees look really smart now not trading for Johan. Big Stein's getting upset!
mack 44 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 Good, I hope the spaz has a heart attack. It's just baseball, even if you own/run a team. It would be funny if his dad fired him though but I think he's too busy recuperating from Al Davis surgery to preserve him for three thousand millenia. mik3 1 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 I'm pretty happy about not trading for Johan. Especially since he's on pace to give up 50hr in the NL East and has lost about 3-4mph.
