RBK 9K O-tech shaft?

Recommended Posts

Never seen one of them before. Suprised you could even us that stick as a two-piece stick with all the holes and such..

It is pretty much the same thing but all you do is take the blade off the end and seal the rest of the stick.

Yeah, it looks like they did exactly that. It's just interesting because I've never seen a two-piece O-Stick.

They probably won't be released to the public till the spring.

They were being used before the retail 9k came out. Further more, I have heard of a user here pulling the blade on their o-tech. I have also seen an o-tech shaft already, and the guy who owned it said that he had to cut the tennon on his blade down to make his blade fit in.

I figure a shaft would be great, but doubt they will offer it as a retail model for obvious reasons.

i wonder who on the marlies used it? the only one that comes to mind is ben ondrus. I saw him using a 9ko on sundays game in the first period, then he switched back to his v130 2 piece. I wonder if it was a shaft that he was using

it almost looks z-bubble esque the way the shaft flares out at the bottom(although the ops version does that too, so it mightn't be anything special)

he writes at the bottom of page:

"My mistake, upon closer inspection it may have been a broken shaft and I will submit a closer up picture today of the end where the blade goes in."

On Nov-23-07 at 15:35:07 PST, seller added the following information:

Upon closer inspection and talking with the person I got the stick from, it was a broken stick and will except tapered blades as with any other broken one-piece stick. Sorry for any issues this causes but these shafts are so new on the market...

and there you have it.

Sorry to bump but had to post this.

Well my friend broke the blade of his O-stick tonight and upon closer inspection, there was a crack forming about one inch from the holes. He put it under a heat gun and the remaining portion of the blade slid right out revealing a tapered shaft.

Just thought I would let you guys know in case you are planning on spending $200+ on this expecting a true one piece stick.

I have the same fuse point line on mine. My blade is only partially cracked so I'll probably wait until it completely breaks to try and put a tapered blade in it. The only thing is it appears as if there wouldn't be enough room for a blade to fit in there, but I have never personally used a tapered blade so I guess I just wasn't aware that the part inserted into the shaft (sorry don't know what you'd call it) was that short.
