Vapor XXXX with "Red Rectangle" on Holder (Pic)?

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry for the poor quality of the picture, but can anyone explain what the "Red Rectangle" on this Vapor XXXX/LS2 holder signifies?

.

What does it indicate or mean?

I was watching a AAA Midget team practice about three weeks ago and about (6) of the kids had the exact same Red Rectangle on their holder..... seemed like the whole team.

The above pic is a chop/cut from this Team Canada pic:

(I tried a search, but not luck)

Very much appreciated!

Yeah nice save buddy.

Save? Nah......... I'm not into all that BS. I'm just here to get some info. So far, a couple of comedians.

Anyone know what the red sticker is for?

when I was a squirt and pee-wee our team would have a piece of team colored tape around the holder... those tuuk's are nothing new just some kids showing team/country spirit... pay no mind to the comdeins

a few teams do that to help identify teammates during battles in the corners, some also put it around the hosel of their stick too.

I've played pickup in places that put tape or bands on your holders to show that you paid.

They also do that for public skates around here.

I've also seen the bands as "proof of purchase" of ice time. That's the only thing I think it may be, other than the team color thing which was previously mentioned.

i do the same but with black electrical tape around the TUUK logo on my skates...i do it just b-cause...i guess to block off the logo would be a better reason.

you can see them Here on the 9k's with LS2's

When I was in high-school a close friend of mine died in a car accident. The football, basketball, and baseball teams all wore red arm bands in memory of him. As for the hockey team, you cant neccesarily wear arm bands, so every player put red electrical tape on there runners, just as shown in the photos.

Could be something similar to that.

i do the same thing to my grafs but i put a longer strip of blue electrical tape so it covers the whole holder but no reason for it except for showing team spirit like joeskow mentioned

it's a heel down. Some sharpeners will do it instead of profiling. It's basically a hack job way of profiling. I had a toe down on my vapors previous to getting replacement skates that I actually had profiled. It will work but it's not pretty and it's not consistent across both blades.

I developed some bad habits because of it. I'm just now not catching my toe in the ice too early in full stide.

IDK, it could go either way but whichever it was the word "hackjob" should be included in the description. BTW JR, that's what the toes of my skate looked like but the blades weren't quite that bad... though, noticeably off.
