Seriously - I get the feeling almost every guy on the Flyers would run or turtle up if, say, Boogaard or Chara or Laracque squared off against them.

That's what really bothers me, at heart, about the comparisons between these guys and the original Broadstreet Bullies. Those guys backed it up to their last drop of blood, even as Larry Robinson personally hammered it out of them. Yeah, they hooked and speared and ran guys through the boards, but they'd stand and deliver when they got called on it.

And as for Roberts and Eagre, I'll admit it - I kept hoping Eagre would get turned over when they went down, so Roberts would actually have the pleasure of donkey-punching that little bitch.

Yeah, the old Flyers at least fought (probably even if the other person wasn't looking for one) to back up their stuff. Now the only fights in Philly are Clarke's battles against diabeetus and senility.

The New flyers have nothing to lose, they sucked last year, this year making the playoffs is the measuring stick. IMO they've done a decent job of assemlbing a squad, after such a disasterous season last year.

I wish I could say that Eager is one of those guys that you'll like better when he's on your team, but I can't. He's an idiot and can't really fight (although he will).

When he came up, he looked to be a high energy third liner with some talent. I haven't seen that in a while.
