Nike Bauer XXX Lite VS Warrior AK 27 VS Warrior Dolomite

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know which shaft has better puck feel? Also, what blade would be good combo with these shafts? I currently have the Nike Bauer XXX Lite shaft w/ the Dolomite Kovalev blade. BEST stick for feel AND shot yet! Wristers just fly off. Same for slap and snap. I heard the AK 27 has better puck feel though. I've heard the Dolomite is good too. And I'm always stuck with flex. I go to the store, some say my flex should be in the 60s, some say 85 is good for me. I weight 130. Anybody hear or know anything?

You aren't going to find an answer to your questions. They are too bias on personal preference. You really have to try what you have access too and hope for the best. You can always check the reviews section too if you want somebodies opinion, but take it as that.. an opinion.

If you're comfortable with your Kovalev pattern, there's no reason you don't stick with it. Personally, I always try to revert to a simple, straight, neutral blade if I need to go back to basics.

Not too sure about the feel for those two shafts, but the general rule of thumb is half your weight in lbs -- and adjust upwards a bit if you feel you can get a stiffer stick to load. What flex are you using right now?

Shafts do not have a major impact on puck feel. It is almost entirely dependent on the blade you use.

It's pretty much all your choice. For the shafts, it really all depends on the kind of blade you use. You gotta pick one that you really like and that gives you the balance that YOU like.

All are great sticks and, IMO, you couldn't go wrong picking either of the three.

What's the best curve for puck feel?

It's all personal preference. For myself I'm not too overly picky about the curve but in the past I have favored wooden or ABS blades over composite.

Again, it's all YOUR preference. Chadd might like a Kovalchuk pattern while you might think that it's way too much of a curve.

Haha YEAH for sure.

Not to threadjack, but can anyone comment on the compatibility of the Dolo Shaft and XXX Lite blade? I have a Nip grip on the way with a Kovalev, but i'm afraid a ) the warrior blade will go soft too fast, and b ) the longer hosel on the warrior blade will force me to hack off more than i'd like.

Curve doesn't impact puck feel at all, it's the way the blade is made that changes the way you feel the puck.

I was about to get that combo! Seems like a sick combo.

They're compatible. No fit problems whatsoever.

Balance any different relative to the Warrior-Warrior combo? I've actually never used a warrior blade but from what I've heard they aren't as stiff and don't have the pop of a CNT or XXX blade.

i have a xxx lite shaft and dolomite shaft and both are using the dolo2 draper curves. they're both balanced and they both feel good but i'm just used to the shape of the dolomite shaft. i've been using warrior/innovative shafts for a while and just love the feel. but i don't really see any cons with either shaft.

Whats the difference in the shape of the two?

i think the dolomite is slightly concave. not much, but it's not completely straight like the vapor. and the vapor seems to be a little smaller in my hands compared to the dolomite. i compared the two and the size seems similar, so i'm not sure why it feels smaller other than the shape of the dolomite.

It felt just as balanced. Personally, I find the Dolo to be just as stiff as any other blade out there. Only issue I have with Warrior is their lies.

Just a heads up.. both are concave. The dolomite is just a little more pronounced.

ah ok...i was looking at it in my dark garage but i could tell the dolomite was more. it made the vapor seem straight haha.

I use a Dolo Nipple Grip with a XXX Lite blade, no problems at all.

no shaft shape, length, pattern, lie, flex, grip etc. can impact puck feel in any way shape or form. those are all about YOUR personal preference, nobody else can help you out there.
