ROME - Mini series

I've been wondering for awhile if this series was anygood. Never saw it on TV here and the DVD box set just got dropped in price at my LDVDS ;)

Has anyone seen it? Is it as good a mini series as Band of Brothers was?

I thought it was pretty good, but for some reason they gave it alot of commercial time in the build up only to then give it really shitty time-slots around here.

Made no sense at all.

Mack, what's your favorite line from the series? Mine has to be Antony's line as he's lying in bed on the morning of the funeral, "I am not rising out of bed until I've fucked someone!" Said with such utter indignation that the ladies wanted him to get up without any morning fun. I just about shot some soda out of my nose.

I loved it but I didn't like how the characters evolved... Pullo killing Eirene's boyfriend for one. I definitely would not have given Eirene a boyfriend and would have played on the sexual tension between the two. Something like Pullo fornicating with everything that moved but when it came to Eirene he just couldn't touch her.

Young Octavian is just amazing. (Max Pirkis, Master and Commander)Older Octavian not so much.

The relationship between Vorenus and Pullo was the show to me. But as the series went on I found myself missing the sarcastic remarks each made from the first episode.

Feels good talking about something I really looked forward to watching but I have to admit that at the end of the second season the damage made by the writers was too much.

Is this the same "Rome" with Ciaran Hinds as Cesar?

If so, it's not a mini-series, its a bbc series, and there have been at least 2 seasons.

If not, apologies, and what channel is it on? (us)

Yes it's the same show and though it's not a min-series, it's also DOA apparently.
