Just watching world junoirs and then NHL highlights and it came to me that i have never seen any player in the NHL using one. I know all through Junior A and CHl all the teams wear them just wondering if anyone would know why they dont use them in the NHL. Itech Deluxe 100

Maybe they're not contracted to use them (?), and they might not be that popular anyway since most pros prefer smaller visors.

On a semi-related note, how come you never see Div. I college players rocking FX-50 combos or Bauer cages? CCM/FM480 and Itech full shields seem to be king, at least what I've seen in Hockey East.

what is so stylish about them? Looks like any old cage to me.

I dont find them stylish but they are a great cage. If my 480 wasn't black, I'd use it over the 8500 I'm using. What amazes me is that it's super light, even compared with the 8500 or 8000.

I tried an RBK FM5K cage the other day - seemed like a more or less exact copy of the 480.

Popped one of the DX-100 on my pro stock 892...will be using it this week. Optically it doesn't seem to distort looking through the corners, but the real test will be on the ice. It is real easy to install and I like the simple replacement capability.

Weird... that bar is at exactly the right place for me, and I just went on a three-province killer hooking spree.

I also got it for next to nothing, so don't feel too bad. That and my sewing skills will soon have that Itech cage sporting a floating chin-cup.
