TPS R8 gloves

Recommended Posts

I wear 13" Vapor XV's... but seem to wear 14" in most other brands (when trying them on in the shop). Do the R8's fit more like the Vapor or other models? My LHS does not stock them.

i have a line of tps sticks and gloves both r8 models. the gloves are great ive had them for 3 months now and they seem to be wearing off. what i mean by that is if u look at the paint ont he glove its starting to crack and rip. the palms are great but slowly they are kind of showing damage. i change my grip tape as much as possible to avoid making any holes in them seems to work. all that aside.. i think the r8's are the best pair of gloves i owned.

Beautiful gloves. They have them by the truckload at Hockey Life in Vaughn, Ontario.

But I picked the One90s over them :P

I have NOT seen the new "TPS/Louisville 2008 catalog" listed on this site like other manufacturers. Or, did I miss it???????

Reason being, I'm anxious to check out what the 'new' Response gloves will look like. Then, I'll make the decision to pick up 2007 Response Lites, or the newer version.

Anybody seen the 'next model'?????

Much appreciated!

I've tried a couple of different gloves prior to the R8 Lites with the last being the Vapor XXX and I don't think I'm going back. The TPS fit perfectly with the Vapor line running a close second. It is solid and comfortable and I would recommend them to someone looking for a snug, comfortable fit.

Just a hair looser in the palms than the Vapors, but from my experience, XV's are a bit looser than XXX's or X's. So probably a similar fit, cuff won't be as big though.

The R8's are creeping back into my head. I loved the super tight fit of the Vector Pros I had, but I bought some cheap Vapor Apollos to tide me over while I get them re-palmed and now I like that huge cuff flare and light weight. If those nylon R8's make it to stores...

There aren't any "new" Response gloves parsay.

It's just a full nylon version of the R8 (not 50/50 nylon/leather split like the R8 Lite).

They will be called the R8 Pro's.

Pics remind me a lot of the HGT.

Nothing too special.

I saw them on the Giant site today, same price. I might have to swing by the store later today.

I only see the leather, pros, and the 50/50.

Beautiful gloves, they do have a nylon model as well. The new "pro" is nylon but has a lower grade palm.

The pro is listed as Fine Fiber Hyde palm, as are the others. What is lower grade about it?

I love them - I will be gettign R8 Lites next year to replace my Eagles, as the Eagles just feel too sloppy now - the R8's seem to have the happy medium I like in tightness.

I would imagine not a whole lot besides the color. However, I believe the all black can come in different sizes and colors, where as the perry pro stock only comes in that color and only 14" I believe.

sorry to resurrect an old topic, but i was looking online for reviews on the TPS R8 glove and found this. I want to get eagle gloves but they are just too pricey. After reading this thread i might go for TPS's but I don't really understand completely what is going on. I'll try to recap what I think is going on:

TPS R8 Lite= No nylon, better palms (ffh)

TPS R8 Pro= Nylon, lower palm (digitech??)

TPS HGT= NO IDEA, but how do these compare to R8 palm-wise.

I have eagles right now but the palms got holes in them within the first 2 months! I could care less about 10 grams of weight on a glove, but I want to make sure that the palms last and the gloves are durable. Thanks for the help.

PS if anybody has a pic of the red white blue R8 glove that would be much appreciated!
