Nike Bauer One90 Pro Gloves

Recommended Posts

I recently ordered a pair of Nike Bauer One90 Gloves and I received them today. However, they are branded 'One90 Pro' and I was wondering if anyone knew how these differ from the standard One90 gloves as I haven't seen these anywhere before.

I've no complaints about them, they're very comfortable and they certainly seem durable, I was obviously just curious given that they are slightly different from what I was expecting. You guys seem to know a lot about this stuff so I thought I'd ask.

Here's a picture of them

the only thing that i could see different is that they might have plastic inserts but im not sure. The one90 pros ive seen have different palms.

I should probably add that these are from a UK supplier in case that makes any difference

(Forgot to say hello to everyone here at MSH, long time reader, first time to post. It's a fantastic site)

Yeah... I think it's just a different palm and gussets. It still has the lines across(obviously) but no stretch material, that I can tell.

The logo is also larger than the one I have on my one90s BUT it appears to be the same size as the ones I have on my Supreme 70s. That difference might be based on when the gloves were made as opposed to what specs.

Looks like instead of the stretch palm with the material overlay, this particular pair of pros have a palm similiar to the supreme 70 gloves. I think you got a better palm. Durability in the one90 palms is a little suspect. Stitching sometimes come out. Sweet gloves!

There's a stretch material along each finger (apart from the tips of each finger), but the main palm itself appears to be a non-stretch material.

Trying not to sound silly, but why is there a difference at all? Shouldn't One90 gear be all standard?

Thanks for the very quick and informative replies by the way, it's very much appreciated! I can't wait to give these gloves a try tomorrow during practice :)

Here's a pic of the internal of the glove in case that helps with determining what palm it's got:

Yeah, I can see the stretch material in the first pic but the one90 gloves have stretch material as the gussets and 3 inlays of it in the actual palm.

Let me see if I can find a pic.

I suppose the obvious question is: Will I miss anything by not having the stretch palm and gussets? Does it affect the feel of the glove significantly?

Many people prefer standard gussets/palm to the stretch palm of the one90s, but the ones who like it really like it.

My first guess is that the UK/Europe gets a slightly different glove than the US. , and may not get the standard one90 available here.

I won't buy gloves that have spandex gussets for durability reasons. In my personaly yours is a more desirable set up than the standard retail model.

Thanks for all the replies, you've been really helpful. I tried them out today during practice and they are perfect! Really snug fit round my hand and I found they really helped me.

Is the cuff not different on this glove than the retail One90? To be honest, other than where the palm extends to the index finger. I have my One70s in front of me and spec and design wise this looks almost the same...

I noticed since joining MSH that one thing that DOES NOT apply in buying hockey equipment is the word 'STANDARD'!!

between retail, special order, SMU, prostock & custom ... standard does not really describe most situations. Many products go through running design changes over the length of time a product is available not to mention what can be had in different markets

Those gloves look really great and you said they feel/perform to your expectations ... so that's more important! Enjoy.
