No, but I know what you mean about the "can't get it out of my head" when it comes to gear or beef stroganoff.

It took me about a year and a half to find a decent pair, and that was 2 years ago.

The prices on ebay for these are getting absurd...anywhere from $150 to 400.

Don't have the Accel Elites, those are awesome, but I picked up a pair of these Air Speed Plus two weeks ago for a friend. Wrong size for him, though. Now I'm considering what to do with them. Hang on to them and pimp em up with my old clear Tuuks (cleaned up of course), trade them or donate them to our programs charity sports auction. FYI, they are 8.5D

good luck finding them..

random.. Sergei's skating Bauer One 90s now.. after he dropped Nike he was a Graf guy for a looooong time.

Listen, for those of us who were around when those first came out, they were a running joke back then b/c they sucked so hard. I had a pair and the only reason I got them was b/c I needed a pair of skates BADLY and even then I refused to pay more than $50 for them new in the box with all tags... This was around 1999 and they depreciated that much. They are DOGS. You really have no idea how bad those things are. Also, they start looking like they perform really quick. The crap they used for the quarters frays like mad. It's just a horrible skate, get over them.

I've never skated in them, but FWIW, Here's what I've heard both good and bad from the half dozen or so guys I've played with who use or used them. Some of the things depend on the individuals foot, usage, and preference. I'll start with the dislikes. Some of the likes/dislikes either contradict (came from different guys) or are the flipside of each other(trade-offs):

Dislikes

They draw attention

Fugly, Form over function, Flashy, Pimp, etc.

Too heavy. Way too heavy when wet.

The eyelets pulled out(often a bad tighten technique and a wet skate)

The nylon frayed (this model had no leather behind the toe cap, odd)

Broke down in the forefoot somewhat.

Broke down in the tendon guard

Air Holes in the toe cap (I've not seen that. Maybe a roller hockey model?)

Nike. built for marketing first, hockey players needs second

Likes

They draw attention

Beautiful, Phat, Sweet, Gorgeous, Pimp etc.

Gretzky and Federov wore them (Accel Elites)

They wear like iron, Hummer Like in durability

Stiff ankles. Really stiff. Great support

Large volume toe box

Very Comfortable. Thick Felt toungue, wide deep boot.

Nike's best skate. Daoust Geometry with Nike style.

IMO, I like a more traditional look and they are heavy, but the more skates to choose from, the better for everyone, I say. More skates means more players means the game is growing, and that's a good thing. The guys at the pro shop will always be willing to help folks determine their individual preferences and needs.

I would take the steel out and carefully brush out the holder with as gentle a solvent as will do the job. Then I'd either refurbish the existing steel or put in some new steel. They look to have not been sharpened much, if at all. lots of steel showing and no grinding wheel induced change in the rocker from original.

I probably won't do them myself. I don't the patience or extra time. I have a friend who has a guy (equipment manager) who is absolute magic with this stuff.

For the air accel elites maybe, but not for nike air plus( a little lower-end I believe) Recent Ebay Auction. BTW do you mean straight white or the ones with white/black b/c I've never seen all white?

I saw someone on "show your stuff" with all white versions and a graf holder. I'm sure these skates are very heavy and I don't expect much out of them I just want a pair to dangle in a little. As much as I like the 9k rbk whites I like the look of these

I really hope they start to make some skates with a combination of flash and class. the XXXX, are one of the best skates out but lets calm down on the chrome and silver

the new graf g5 limited editions are pretty unreal, of course I'm only looking at these skates from an aesthetic perspective

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I may try something a bit wild with them If I keep them. They have more value for exhibition than playing. I'm working on the clear Tuuks now. 90% of the rust build up in the groove came out with soap, water and a toothbrush. Then I just have to buff the steel and plastic as smooth and shiny as possible.

I may fabricate something to attach to the hardware nuts on the inside of the holders and stick em on the Nike's. Those Dremel tools are pretty handy. Some ideas:

Dice tilted to look like they're rollin

Molson Bottle Caps

Fake Goldfish

BMW logo door locks or valve stems.

Gold Coins

14k and enamel Notre Dame cufflinks
