My XN10 just broke

Recommended Posts

Like the title says it broke when a silly M*****F*** step it on it to brake it and broke the blade. Now the question is ..... cut it for tapered or normal blade. And i liked my curve (Nash) he has a bit more loft then sakic (my other ops i use) so are those TPS blade any good (i looked in the review and no one made a review on them)

Let me know what you guys think since i never cuted a ops before

cut it to make it tapered. Then throw an R2 in it. Both the composite and wood r2's are high quality blades, and you can the curve you want

I agree with staampeder you should just do wut was said before and put an r2 blade in it. The other thing about making a tapered shaft is it will feel more like the unbroken stick compared to the standard shaft way.

no i'm pretty sure you just cut at the fuse point then if it isn't hollow keep moving up bit by bit until there is open shaft.I

'm am not positive on this can someone confirm?

I recall a while back on Corebeam that a guy took a tapered blade, measured the blade next to where the bldae on the stick was, then cut it. So that the stick wont be shorter and will remain the same legnth. Sorry if this is confusing.

I tapped it with a piece of metal to see where it was hollow. I'm sure i lost a little taper, but it didn't effect the performance. I made sure I cut a little below though so I didn't lose any length. I then made another small cut to the appropriate area.

If you heat and pull enough you'll probably be able to get it out that way. I got the tenon out of my shaft with a ton of heating. I would try that before just cutting it off.

That was me. I lined up an R2 blade next to my XN10 and cut it there. Worked out nicely. Then you have to heat up the tenon left in the shaft to get it out of there. It takes a good amount of heat and you may have to chisel it out. You can try and just heat it up and pull out the blade, but I have my doubts if that will actually work with this stick.

I think you quoted the wrong guy.
