Why not call it the ZC-33? (Zdeno Chara 33)

People don't seem to understand the concept of the AK-27..... it's named after the AK-47 rifle, so they are calling Kovalevs stick a rifle! So you can't just throw anything in there. JS-19 - - where's the meaning to that? I tried to explain that to my friend the other day when he put DL-21 on his stick.

I think the confusion comes when Alexei Kovalev, #27, uses the AK-27, which is never mentioned in the promos as having anything to do with a rifle, especially with Kovalev being Russian, so any hints at Communism are lost.

Yeah, that's like saying if Sam's choice bought RC cola, Pepsi is going down!

I am saying that New Balance def has the cash to buy graf... and warrior seems to pretty good at marketing so far...they could probably increase graf's market share

it obviously would not pass nbh or rbk in the near future... but it would give them a complete product line and established brand in skates... a hard market to crack...

they could be the chrysler of the hockey world... (the smallest of the "big 3")

Sam's choice is owned by the walmart corporation and RC has it's small market share... It's EXACTLY what you were saying.

Even if they did buy Graf, they still don't have a full line of protective, let alone goalie gear. They could probably give Mission some headaches. Even that might be a stretch.

graf has a full line of protective out, excluding a helmet

That's like saying that Sam's choice has Dr Thunder and green lightning.

Yes, I had to look that up and yes, I will keep making this comparison.

No one thinks Graf could be the next target for the new balance/warrior aquisition express?

I think it makes sense... warrior seems to grow by taking over companies & skates is probably the hardest market to break into

That is not what anyone has said. Warrior has been buying up small companies. Graf's market share is puny. Unless Warrior buys them and injects them with rocket fuel, chrome and weed they won't overtake RBK, CCM, NBH.

Besides, Graf has more issues than just market share.

I didn't even know they made anything besides skates and some $12 wood sticks my LHS has.

graf makes protective gear, my LHS stocks some of it. I liked their gloves, seemed pretty high end.

I heard somewhere that they don't pay the fee or whatever to the NHL to allow NHL players to use their gear, hence no one has heard of graf protective.

Only protective you wear that is visible is gloves or helmet. Even if they did wear Graf shoulder pads or elbow pads, how would you know?

Right, from what I read on this board this board, what I see in my local hockey shop, and what I see the pros wearing, it seems like warrior buys smaller companies like innovative & MIA and gives them mass appeal... How many guys used innovative sticks in the show before they were warrior? I never saw them at a local hockey shop until warrior got ahold of them...

I also dont see the big benefit of making protective equipment...the only equipment that gets brand recogicnition is helmets, gloves, sticks, skates, and pants (little bit). Other than the small margins a company can make selling retail protective, I dont see the big benefit of making it.

If Warrior bought Graf and got Kovi, Hoosa, Kovalev, & Smyth to wear them and made some slightly blinged out skates... They would sell... Warrior is a hot brand right now

You saw Innovative sticks all the time. Ever hear of the Vapor XXX or XX?

Why would warrior buy graf for protective equipment? New Balance owns Brine and Warrior which are both lacrosse companies, the protective equipment isn't that far off. I also don't see why they would bother with skates yet, they see how well Easton is doing with their skates... Takes a lot to get players out of THC/NBH and keep them out.

Forgot analogy: Why would Sam's choice buy RC cola? They already sell crappy cola. Having twice the crap isn't going to make people like Pepsi less.
