Easton Stealth S9 Elbow Pad

Recommended Posts

Looking on the Easton site and it says the S9 elbow pads are heat moldable. Does anyone have any experience with heating these things? How long do you heat them? How long do you wear them post heating? What parts of the pad actually mold?

Thanks.

I don't know anything about their moldability, but I have them and they are the best elbows I've ever worn. They are probably supposed to form fit over time with heat from your body.

I've had a pair for six months, work great. Fit very well right away. I'd imagine the forearm piece could be heat molded, but I don't see a reason why you'd want to. The strap across the inside of the elbow holds it on pretty well.

I have the S5s and they fit great right away. I tried on everything and these felt the best. Having said that I don't think you will need to heat mold. I'm pretty sure they'll be okay for you right away.

Honestly I've never seen anyone need to bake elbow pads. I don't see the point but it's your choice.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I was really just trying to figure out what part of the pad modeled and how it did. Everything I hear is they are great elbows, just wanted to see if I could figure out the point of the heat mold.

Just got a pair of S5 elbows and I must say these fit very nicely. I like my elbows pads super tight to prevent slippage and the Easton 3 straps design + strong and ample amount of velcro really keep these pads to stay put. Not as bulky as I once thought but still a bit heavier than my old Vapor4 or 6's (I love those. Too bad they're too stretched out...) but the S5's fit much tighter!

Best thing is I got the brand new S5's on ebay for $9.99!

I love my S9s. I do have one problem with my right elbow. My right elbow bone bottoms out occasionaly and sometimes can bug me for days after a game.

Got the S-9's from Great Skate at Christmas. I absolutely love em. Really nice fit, no slippage and fantasticly protective. Used to wear the Synergy 900's. Found them a bit on the bulky side compared to the S-9's. Gave em to my son who really likes em. Easton are just continously improving on their protective equipment. Can't wait for their two new helmets to come on the market.
