Has anyone else noticed how bad this Hockey Night In Canada Announcer is.

He was saying stuff like "and the Rangers are trying to make the playoffs" and "Hollweg plays for himself, not the Rangers"

This guy is a moron, has anyone else noticed this

I was unaware that he was the "canadiens" announcer, just HNIC I thought. I agree totally with his holweig selfish comment anyway. I found the cbc broadcast to be better than nbc imo.

NBC is no better, but not to be biased, MSG(Rangers, Islanders, Devils fans can all atest to this) is the best broadcasters

Holloweg is a selfish player.

He's lucky the rags held on and pulled it out. He has no self control whatsoever. And his trying to make the playoffs comment is spot on. Noone is locked in yet.

The thought of a team in 7th place (by one point, too), not making playoffs in a tightly contest conference is a joke? With as streaky as the Rangers (and basically every other Eastern team) have been, it would be not surprising if they didn't make it.

Millen is one of the better ones on CBC ... try being a sens fan and listening to Bob Cole/Harry Neale call the games, all those guys say is the "ottawa sens" pretty much a joke

agreed. greg millen is one of the best commentators in the game, and being apart of the HNIC crew makes it pretty evident (HNIC arguably puts out the best hockey broadcast in the NHL). His comments are bang on too as already stated so i dont see the big deal.

Millen has been pretty good in most of the games I've seen. He's also a nice guy as well. I talked to him for half an hour or so on a flight from Toronto to Pittsburgh last season when he was on his way to do a game for HNIC.

i think all the CBC announcers are pretty good. You never have t worry about Jim Hughson running out of energy, and Bob (with the occasional name slip) and Harry have been a Saturday night staple forever.

Chris Cuthbert (usually does games for TSN) is one of the best in the buisness though imo, hes prbably my favourite announcer out there

Oh yeah, thats a good call I forgot about him. Too bad his voice wasn't heard in the NHL more. I think he was teamed up with Gary Green if I remember correctly, he wasn't bad either.

i think bob cole and harry neale are seem more as a tradition than as good commentators, especially if you grew up with them watching HNIC every saturday night.

Although they are both incredibly Leaf biased, especially Cole, theyre always good for a chuckle when you tune in just cause their comments now are so predictable

Neither does Vin Scully. The greats can do the job by themselves. People might not agree with me, but I think Hughson could do play-by-play solo and be even better.
