Easton Stealth

Recommended Posts

Today while being bored at work i spinned my mind about hockeystuff (as always) and i thought about the last years and the stuff which got released, was hyped, trash talked and so on.

At some point, the Stealth OPS came to my mind.

I still remember the days this stick was an e-rumor and Easton revealved some details and finally the stick got released.

Ive never got the opportunity to test ANY Stealth OPS, so im asking you.

Did the evolution help the stick in your eyes? Ive heard that the first Stealth was the best on the line, others say the CNT is the best one out there. I assume the S17 stick is too new to the masses, but some of you can surely add their two cents here.

Most of the people I've talked to that have tried the line since they began prefer the black finish (2005, I believe). The CNT was rarely favored over it from the feedback we got.

It's a little early for us to say on the S17

I personally have only had 1 variation of the Stealth... the CNT. (I do have an S17 coming someday.... toy drive)

My brother on the other hand, has had the first run (black/silver tip), and the CNT. The original Stealth was very, very good to him... his lasted almost 11 months, and to this day- he states the best stick he's owned. It took some really gnarly slashes, a few chips in the heel... but all in all, it held up well. His CNT on the other hand, met it's demise in only 45 days. He loved it, but nowhere near as much as his inital Stealth.

He's not touching my S17, for the record.

I've shot around with the original and didn't like it because it was just TOO light, especially at the blade. The kick on it was decent, but it was a well used one that my teammate had beaten up on for a few months. I'm sure a newer one would have had a lot more pop. Regardless, I don't think I could ever get used to that super-light blade.

I was turned off by the shaft shape on the CNT- too boxy for my liking. That plus the price tag kept me away from it, but the guys I know who use them love them as well.

I bit the bullet and dropped the cash on the S17 about 2 months ago and have fallen in love with it. The shaft shape is more rounded on it, and the ellipse made me curious. I've got a long-term review going on it right now.

I had the originla (silver tip) stealth and both the cnt and S17.

Best shooting S17 but poor durability (1st run anyway)

Best durability CNT but like 7/10 on feeling

Best overall 05 by far and at 395g full lenght and yzerman curve (RIP :()

ive owned an original and a CNT and confirm that the original was the best stick ive ever owned, loved it. cnt lasted a bit longer and took more punishment but couldnt match up performance wise. weirdly they both broke in the same place in the middle of the shaft, unlike all the sl's, st's ive broken on the blade.

and again like others i would love to be able to find a few 100flex RH Grip Lidstrom/drury originals

The first Stealth was the best feeling by far, but i felt the CNT gave me a little better shot and was a tank for me. I should have an S17 here soon so can't speak on behalf of that stick yet

I'm giving away my CNT 85 Lidstrom to a kid in the shop today. I took it on the ice for the last time this morning. This stick just never felt right to me. I have liked the SE a lot more than the Stealth CNT. I will try any brand in a Lidstrom pattern and use an SE, Mission Fuel, Warrior MacDaddy, NBH XXX-Lite ID, RBK 7K Sickick, and Mission Pulse in the pattern on a rotating basis. The CNT just never felt comfortable to me. Certified nut case............

When the original came out, I didn't have the money to buy any OPS, but I always thought the stick was TOO light. The s17 is almost too light for me, but I'm used to it now. Probably would have been the same case for the original, but back then the price tag was too much. The cnt felt pretty nice to me, but I never used one in a game.

You mean besides learning to shoot so the huge curve crutch can be tossed aside?

Some people shoot better with a huge curve? Why hinder yourself in a competitive sport when you can give yourself an advantage.

I've had at least two of all three of the stealth models. The original stealth was the best balance of performance and durability and still the lightest stick ever made. The CNT was well balanced and very durable, but was a downgrade in shooting performance in my opinion. The S17 may be the best shooting stick I have ever used, however I broke my first one on a one-timer in the first game I used it in and the warranty replacement I received has seen only two games so I can't for sure say much about the stick yet. It has good feel. Not quite as good as the XXX Lite IMO. They just seem really fragile to me. Especially in the elliptical section.

I've used all 3 and can say the CNT is by FAR the best in my opinion. The feel, kick, and durability on the CNT has been amazing in my experiences. I have a grip CNT right now that has lasted me over 8 months and is still going strong.

The original Stealth, I don't know, something just always felt "off" to me. Along with the s17 I just couldn't get used to it. The puck felt wrong on the blade and the whole stick felt brittle when shooting.

I have to say the CNT was the best hands down and in that regard am trying to stock up on as many as possible in Drury curves before they're gone.

my favorite stick ever would be the original stealth with a lidstrom curve by far

i used the CNT and had one snap on a pass....yes a pass...in the first game i used it but the other two had no durablity issues...

speaking of CNTs im looking to buy a couple...anyone know a cheap website to get them...everyone in my area still sells them for $200
