i'd be eager to see the replay of it because i couldn't tell if it was accidental or not

Take off the homer glasses. Dubinsky was obviously trying to avoid stepping on him.

On another note, it was fun to see NBC show that Sid cross-checked someone three times right in front of the ref with no call and obviously faked on the high stick call.

I thought the crosschecks were humorous, especially since the ref right behind them wound up calling a hook across the ice right after the crosschecks.

What was funny was how the other camera angle showed him getting the stick in the mouth, that was funny.

Whats funny is even with all the stuff he has to put up with is he still puts up huge numbers.

The real kicker is no matter what he does, even if Pierre McGuire personally apologizes to Sid post game, some idiots still think he faked it - there are those that will always have something to say I guess.

I was a big anti-crosby head in his first year. Regardless of your affiliation to the team, you have to admit, he dived and whined quite a bit.

Obviously the kid was 18 and had a lot of pressure on him.

He hasn't been doing that as much now. I respect him a lot more for it.

AS a caps fan, I still hate him because he is a pen, but I don't hate him just to hate on him now.

Ahh.......pretty much every player out there shines up the stick close to the head in order to get the call. The stick may have tapped him but the whiplash head motion is what got the call. Happens all over the league.

The stick hit him in the mouth, it wasn't even close as was shown by the replay. If something hits you in the face, no matter how hard, you recoil. Again, any other player is a savvy veteran for drawing penalties, when it's Crosby, he's always diving.

A recoiling motion and the whiplash head snap that is so prevalent in the NHL are two different things. Again, happens all over the league, a stick brushes near a guy and his head looks like a scene from JFK.

Pro sports is pro sports, anything you can do to have the advantage your going to do.

Moving right along, the pens and rags have a rematch tonight at MSG. I expect more of the same playoff type hockey. I expect to see more snarl and more after the whistle scrums and that kinda stuff. I also think Malkin has a huge game. This one goes to the the Penguins, 4-1.

Let a professional athlete hit you in the mouth with his stick and see what you do. I don't see why you are complaining about Crosby, cause I see 10x worse every game with other players. The only difference is he is a superstar, but he is also just a kid, and I agree with allsmokenopancake that he has gotten a lot better. And answer me this why wouldn't you embellish it a little bit if you could get the powerplay?

The last post I made was the first one where I singled out Crosby. If you care to read my posts then you will see that I have said, more than once, that this is a league-wide issue, guys dressing up high sticks.

Simple answer, I don't embellish because I was taught to respect the game and skate through it. Pros shouldn't because the last time I checked embellishing a penalty is supposed to be an unsportsmanlike penalty.

I think the Rangers are going to come out banging. If the Pens don't respond they are going to have a rough time of it. If they can deal with it and get an early one to break the Rangers spirit a bit I think they will be ok. I think Avery is going to be much more visible tonight. As much as I hate him he is effective when he's on.

i thought the first game was very physical and im betting tonight will be even more so.

it seemed like I barely heard any of the rangers good players names called in the first game - it was like they took the night off or something.. although king henry played well.

Henrik played real well. If Sykora does some damage then the Penguins will win for sure. I really think that Fluery will shut them down again, he has been playing excellent since coming back.

Yeah, but he gets points here and there and if he decides to get under the Pens skins and they let him he can influence the game. I think he had two goals the game before last against the Pens.

Should be another good game tonight. However the way the Pens played against the Flyers in their last game could be a blow out or it could be a real close game. I think it will be the latter

Good game tonight, that PP goal Crosby nailed from bad angle was spectacular.

Watching them give out jerseys on FSN-must be great for a fan to win one.
