is the guy just slow?

is he overwhelmed with all the orders?

or have people been scammed? (i can't see that happening)

i was somewhat interested as well - but now there is no point it trying to order..

I got mine today. I would have got them last Friday but due to me forgetting to change my paypal address they were sent to my old address and had to be forwarded to my new address, which, thanks to the efficiency of the USPS required an additional 300 mile round trip to Sacramento which took 6 full days, despite the fact that I moved about a mile away within the same town.

Anyway, I still have yet to recieve any correspondance from "Rockin' Ron". But I do have my bearings, and they seem nice, I'll post some results after the weekend tourny I plan on breaking them in at.

I've never considered bearings to be all that important to my game. I'm usually considered one of the faster players and for the longest time I was using some crappy ABEC-5's. It's funny what marketing can do.

That being said, for this price its defiantly a good bargain if they ever receive them and if they perform as advertised.

Dont forget to toot your own horn...Yet another useless post...Anyway back on topic..I play with a guy that got a set, he loves them and compares them to his swiss bearings...From spinning them myself on his wheels they spin very fast right out of the box and seem to be constructed pretty solid...

He is right, though. 'They spin very fast right out of the box' - real good way to see if it's a good bearing. I remember some very good posts about bearings in the past, maybe look for those.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm not tooting my own horn, just commenting that I personally have never noticed a difference between ABEC 5, 7, 9 Ti exc. The only reason I mentioned my skating because my opinion on the issue wouldn't be very valid if I was a weak skater. Thats all and I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Ive never noticed a big difference in the different abec ratings, but you can definitely tell quality difference between shitty bulk abec 7s or 9s and good abec 3s or 5s.

I'll take Bones Reds over bulk 9s any day.

do they spin when the are fully tightened my abec 9's spin for like a second and stop when tight

Spinning then stoping abruptly is a whole other issue...most times it is the frame squeezing to tight when the bolt is tightened to much...This happens alot basically the wheels, bearings and frames just dont match up perfect and you cant get a good balance between good long lasting spins and well tightend bolts...I would say keep the bolts a little loose, but not loose enough they will rattle out, dont want to tighten them to much or the will become striped and stuck in place and very hard to remove...

None taken...some people cant tell the diffrence in bearings, I understand this...But like Mattzilla said, once youve tried a high quality bearing that gets oiled and cleaned properly, you'll be able to tell a big diffrence between the bulk abec bearings no matter how well a skater you are...Oh and welcome to the board Inlinepro77..

Got my sets today. Seem like a decently good bearing. Contrary to popular belief free spin does matter, just not as much as many other factors. The whole "low torque" Ron advertises his bearings for are told a little bit by free spin, so again not the biggest factor to look at but still something telling.

Any bearing packed with grease brand new will have lousy free spin until it works in, oil pakced have less of an issue. Once bearings are completely broken in see how much and how long a free spin the bearing has and that is a little telling as to coasting under load.

Just checked my Paypal and the bearings have been shipped (shipped out yesterday), which is quite a while after I ordered them.

Also, I forgot to order quantity x2, so if anyone has an extra set they would like to sell shoot me a PM!

Update: So I finally got a response from Ron regarding my request (sent 11 days ago) to have him change the shipping address before he sent the bearings. Which, judging from my story above he didn't even read until well after they were sent. Oh well, I got what I paid for so I cant complain, wouldn't really rave about the customer service though.

Rec. my missile bearings today in the mail. I agree free spin is not everything but does account for something and the true test is coasting while

somewhat stationary. The free spin on the missiles vs. broken in bevo abec 9's appears superior. I will be taking them out today and will report back... CS is lacking but the bearings seem good...

skated with new bearing this afternoon for about 2 hours. I must admit very good bearings... better than stock bearing such as abec 7's and 9's. I would buy these again. Hopefully the durability will be good.

From the description, aren't these bearings considered Ceramic bearings? They shouldn't even be compared with normal bearing but with other ceramic bearings. That said, they are much cheaper than other ceramic bearings though.

Ron offers two models of ceramic bearings and three models of steel bearings. Stage 1,2 and Ballistech Missiles are steel and Stage 3 and Nuclear Missiles are ceramic.

supposedly the Ballistech Missiles are better than Stage 3's. The Stage 1,2,3 bearings are an older design when they went by the name California Bearings, and the Ballistech and Nuclear missiles are the latest and greatest.
