Time for new shoulders

Recommended Posts

I've had my trusty Cooper shoulders for a long time. Anyone have any ideas for something rather inexpensive and not bulky?

I guess so..Shops around here usually tend to stock the newer stuff and almost all of the stock and clearance items are gone by March. I love the service at SportsWorld USA in Eden Prairie, but right now, they have absolutely no gloves available since they sold them all. The same could be said for Westwood Sports in Bloomington.

Its not THAT cold here. The countless number of tall Scandinavian blondes have a way of keeping you warm in winter. Where do you live? There are some pretty good hockey venues in other parts of the US too.

It is a lazy early spring Saturday. I've got some college friends from Bayonne, NJ. Two of them promptly moved to Minneapolis after visiting hahaha

Yep..I'm going to go and try a pair on if I can find them at a local shop..If not, I'll have to go online. Do they fit small? large? I'm a 48L/50R in most sport coats/suits.

Sherwood 5030's are also another option you might want to consider.

I back this statement. Been using them for over 2 years and they're the best pads I've ever had. Light, protective (enough for beer league, at least) and you don't notice them while playing.

Geez I had that Defender model way back in high school and they were truly linebacker size---no flexibility. You have been playing in those all these years even in no-check league ?

I'm 34..my needs nowadays are different, plus I didnt skate for 4-5 years since I was stuck in places other than Minnesota and when I came back from North Carolina, I got the hockey bug again after I recovered from my injuries. I wear them sometimes but, I just havent gotten around to taking the time to try new shoulders on..Pathetic?? yeah I know..but I've been waaaay tooo lazy to get a new pair..They dont smell that bad, especially if I leave them out in the garage, but they've been cracking a bit on the shoulders. Linebacker style? Yeah..now you know why I want something simple and light..I think I desrve that after wearing those shoulders for this long. They've served me well..I want to retire them to my attic. I remember when I got them along with my Columbia blue and navy blue/white hockey socks years ago. Man..I havent skated at the Bloomington Ice Garden in years, yet I learned to play there..I'm just recently becoming a gear whore again and transitioning to the new stuff..Instead of Riedell Air or Daoust skates, I'm seeing Easton, Nike/Bauer etc along with composite sticks.

Maybe I'll make the same move. Have a place to stay? :P

Sure...just keep your dirty paws off my GF ;)

I'll look next time there, think Canadian Tire still sells those classic as privately branded? Pretty sure I saw them on sale about 3 weeks back, so if your heading North, South, Sideways depending where you are in Minny you may want to check out crappy tires store.
