collegiate roller hockey?

Recommended Posts

I played in this for a season. I didnt like it. However, we are talking hockey in Texas.

The region however has picked up well now as more teams have joined. The school I attend has a rather strong team this year and has made more competitive tournaments to achieve that higher level of play. If I wasnt so busy I probably would have tried playing this season.

whats going on guys.. Guy is graduating..we already have our goalie situation worked out for next season. Im not worried. but rowan I'm not sure. He may be around next year..rowan and I went to highschool together and we spoke today at the pool and hes not sure what hes doing with credits yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see porter netting a few more goals next year. lol kovy.. we def have the NY mentality as most of our team is from up north as you can see by looking at our roster. My brother and I made this team to what it is and talk to friends of ours at skatesafe and tell people to come down to our school. I take serious pride in how far our hockey program has come in the past few years. thanks for the kind and honest words kovy

They are trying to get their student count up. Plus it's a private christian college...so I doubt they are struggling for money.

As someone attending a small private Christian college, I can safely say that we struggle for money probably worse than any state run school or non-Christian private institution. I play club roller hockey and varsity baseball, and both programs have taken massive hits the past two years because of the economy and alumni giving less and less because of it. Being a private school, all the money comes from tuition and donations... Both go down, the amount of money for everything at the school goes down.

Ah, good to hear about Guy haha. I kinda doubt your replacement is as good as him, or maybe I just hope he isn't as good. Its hard to beat you guys when you can relay so heavily on your goalie and therefore get so many odd man breaks. In terms of Rowan, if he doesn't return then that is obviously a huge loss but im sure you guys will still be quite good. I actually skate at skatesafe too for I'm from westchester, maybe well cross paths there sometime. we didnt have a great end of the season and so be ready for us to come out hungry next year for we don't have anyone graduating (but might have a few people not play next season). in addition i'm pretty sure well have a new goalie. sure well see you guys next semester

Maybe that is why they are giving money for new sports. Bringing in money by giving money. I don't know. I really hope they aren't struggling though.

got to love a student government that loves club sports... got around 12 grand spread out through 5 teams.

our member dues for the next season:

$50 for returning club players

$135 for new club players

$402 for new travel players(ECRHA) excluding travel costs

$317 for returning travel players(ECRHA) excluding travel costs

I am very happy with the progress our club has made

Wow, I never knew this was you haha. So I have it your playing next season? I apologize about the "prick" comment as I haven't talked to you personally, but some of your players are kind of arrogant. Anyways, hopefully we get to play you guys next year (and hopefully I have a better year) and good luck in San Jose. Im really jealous...

haha no worries bro. Its all about honesty. Ive heard it from plenty of people talk about our team. Like I said we for sure have that new yorker attitude and even the refs enjoy reffing us haha its eventful.. I've grown up with half the kids on our team so its like a fraternity. We all go out and get bombed together etc. Thats why college hockey is fun. No need to say kind of arrogant, as one we are. Some aren't but thats what makes a team. We've had to deal with it. I've always said one of the main ways we can lose games is if we are in the box half the game. Somehow we just pull out some W's. Def look forward in meeting you next season. Be good man and thanks for the support in San Jose.. greatly appreciated.

St. Charles, Missouri guy here. Went to St. Charles Community College (Lindenwood's main competition for a while) and played for them, then transferred to Lindenwood. Was supposed to play for them, but decided I wanted to do EMT school and start my firefighting career path instead.

Level of play was obviously pretty high. Bunch of the team USA guys in this area and still play against a couple of them at the TriPlex and Omni rinks here.

Yes they were bumped up as they made nationals last year. You all arent playing any DI teams because you are new and they don't know your talent level yet. There are not enough DI teams for the DI teams just to play against eachother, so they match them up against the better DII teams (I'm not trying to show off or anything). You will play some DI teams as the year goes on.

Looks like our jerseys and wheels aren't going to be here on time. I won't put the company on here, but it is a well known roller hockey company. They have had our order for over a month and we still don't have them. So now we have to wear some throw together jerseys and skate on old wheels. Lovely. Sorry for the vent.

Scorpion, be aware that making the jerseys takes anywhere from 3-5 weeks since they are sublimated. Besides that, you should have had wheels. Thats unfortunate. We don't have our additional jerseys either (our fault), so we will be scrambling around making sure both of our teams have jerseys.
