Painted Sticks Void Warranty?

Recommended Posts

I've sent dozens of sticks back when they are painted 1/3 of the way up, you should have no problems!

This has been covered before. I think the overall, general concensus is that technically yes, it voids the warrantee (as they could say the paint could chemically harm the stick or what not). However, that no one had really experienced any of the major manufacturers playing that card.

ALTHOUGH, some folks did come forward and say when they tried to return the painted twig to their LHS for replacement (instead of the manufacturer) some LHS' would not take it back due to being painted (I guess there are some LHS' that will go through the replacement claim as a courtesy for their customers replacing the broken stick with a new one / in stock).

what's the difference between painting them white and black?

I see that hossa paints or has his made black on the bottom and i've noticed white sticks on the bottom. I spray painted mine white because someone says it makes it hard for the goalie to see the angle of the shot yada yada. What does black do ?

You could always gather up some paint thinner or something similar and just rub off the paint. I've done that to a blade and it comes if in a couple of minutes of rubbing.

yup also go black if anyone plans on doing this. white is worthless. my goalie in beer league said it made no difference he said paint it black then use black tape. he said thats what gets him.
