Oakley Mace Gloves

Recommended Posts

Any of you guys North America-side tried the Oakley Mace gloves? What are they like compared to traditional glove makes like Easton, Eagle, CCM etc? They are yet to be released in Aus properly but I have seen the odd player wearing them.

i had a pair a while ago, back when they first came out. Like geki said, the palm is utter crap. I ripped through it in about a season of travel roller. I'd rate them in a medium comfort. A little more comfortable than the 852's i was wearing before them, but their comfort is nothing compared to the eagles in wearing now. And i hate that hideous crossbone logo on the thumbs <_<

My Graf 700 gloves were stolen a couple months ago so I needed an new pair (I play ice hockey). I wasnt going to by the grafs gloves again because they were $170. I went to the store and and ended up getting the Mace gloves (for $140, I think). I love them alot and they might be better than my old ones. They are very protective. I have great feel for the puck with them. I like the fingers on them and can move my hands easily. They are also very durable. They might be the most comfertable gloves I have ever tried on. And if it matters they look really cool. I can't think of any problems I have had with them. So I would highly recomend these gloves.

I have them and I don't like them. One of the pads is ripping off after a month and a half to two months of use. Luckily for me though I only paid $40 for them.

$40! Dude where did you get them from? Also did you air them out after every use? I remember back in the day this bloke I played with bought the Mission Wicked Light gloves first month they were released and never aired them out. They fell apart in two months literally!

It's all about getting a glove with the right fit for your hand. Personally I love the Oakley Mace gloves. I've used them pretty heavily for almost a year and they are still in great shape. I wouldn't dare question the quality...the price is questionable. To me, they are worth it.

I live in Orange County, CA where it seems like everyone knows someone who works for Oakley. My team all got a pair for $40.. even though I had other gloves I couldn't pass up $140 gloves for $40.

I always air out my equipment because soggy equipment feels disgusting. I'm not the only person I know who has had problems with the gloves. The pad that is flopping around over the thumb is because of ripped stitching. Another guy on my team has a huge wound on his thumb from the plastic coming through the padding, granted he's had the gloves for over a year and a half.

Bottom line, the gloves look great but I don't like them. I think gloves are mostly personal preference though so you may like them.

I have a pair of pro stock Oiler ones. The comfort is outstanding, but its true about the plams. They are butter soft, which is great for comfort, but the leather wears rather easily. there is starting to be a hole from the butt end.

They are actually one size too large for me. I need 14's.
