clearance/sale OPS in PM9-ish curve?

Recommended Posts

i dont know a whole lot about pattern options and stick features/brands... i'm looking for a right-hand OPS in 75-90 flex, lighter than my vapor xvi, and in a blade pattern close to pm9 (hossa, malkin, st. louis). i dont care about the brand, looks, finish, or model year... what's a good deal? i'd even consider lightly used sticks, but i cant find any on ebay.

what are my other pattern options that will be close?

how much are you willing to spend you can get a vapor XXX-lite these days for around 120 in the pattern you wanted and it will be lighter and a better stick than your vapor xvi

keep an eye out on ebay and in the good deals thread. i know hockeygiant has a bunch of xx's on clearance in different colors

yea those look awesome. i spent 10 mins this morning clicking through every color they have, only to find that they only have left-handed sticks. that's a perfect example of what i'd be looking for.

i dont really have a price ceiling... i'm looking for something that's a really good deal. 120 for an xxx would be great, but where do you see it? i havent been able to find it in 87/pm9 at any price...

i stupidly missed the end of an ebay auction last night that had a lightly used 87/pm9 xxx-lite for $100.

You could take a look at a Mission Fuel, I had it in a 85 flex Boyes pattern ( similar to pm9). I loved the stick and was extremely disappointed when it snapped in two by going into the boards awkwardly. Was a strong stick as well, was just bad luck how mine broke. Also , it had amazing feel, I never realized until I went to a price point stick to finish off the season. You can get them cheap now as well because of the arrival of the fuel-ti.

EDIT: This stick is the lightest I have ever used,it will be a million times lighter than your XVI.(Just to answer your question in your first post)

I have the same flex/curve preference, and have been thinking about giving this one a shot:

NBH One Pro

You can get an extra 10% off that price using coupon code C7C4R2-Y1Z9B8-T4A9R9 until the 3rd.

I've never used one, but I've been thinking about trying one out for a while. Has anyone used one of these?

lots of great suggestions. thanks guys! i just bought a barely used XXX-lite 87/pm9 (which is precisely the stick i was looking for) for $105.

is the hossa the curve i would use for the mission fuel? i'm flexible with the pattern, but pm9 is my favorite.

i was just browsing through hockeygiant.com today and saw that the vapor xxx-lite was like $120...but they only have patterns p88, p91, and p92...so if u consider using another blade pattern this is a wicked deal for a really nice stick.

i used one, very similar to a one90, by similar it means almost exactly the same, just a bit heavier in the blade. i thought they were a euro only kinda thing, but i guess not, great stick for the price if your not aiming high end, i loved mine.

thanks for all the help guys. i'll soon be the owner of 2 lightly used sticks: a xxx-lite 87/pm9, and an endure 77/p88. i'm also considering/bidding on a few that i'm looking at on ebay (one90 87/pm9, xxx-lite 87/p91). i'll also probably order the mission fuel suggested above when i get my next paycheck.

also considering a pro stock one90 in 87/p106... the curve isnt quite right, but the price is, and it looks like its somewhere between a pm9 and a montreal european (which i use on my defense sticks), so it might be worth a try.

i guess patience really does pay off with ebay. i'd been checking for a few days, and it was just the same old stuff, then today there was a flood of new auctions on ebay.
