Older curves and wood sticks

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of older wooden sticks that I am trying to find similar or replacements for.

TPS Omega woody: Teurgon heel wedge.

VIC woody: Palfy heel curve.

Does anyone have either of these or know the replacement pattern names for them? BTW; I know that Vic is no longer a company.

Not to hijack this thread at all, but it seemed like a good place to put this question...does anyone know what the TPS Allison curve was? Yes, I've searched here at MSH and extensively over the internet and can't seem to find it. I don't remember it at all.

Sakic-ish but more toe and maybe a bit smaller if I remember correctly

Thanks a lot Chadd. I appreciate the info. I found an online 'sports retailer' that has some older OPS TPS sticks, and the Allison is one of the patterns they have. When I called to get a pic and/or description, the sales rep had no idea what I was asking them to do.

No problem. I just remember there being a pretty constant debate back on CB about it not being an actual clone.

I would love to find a couple more of the TPS Omegas. I used mine last night and forgot how light they were considering how strong.

They were called XX pro stock before they changed to Omega

Actually, there wasn't an XX Pro Stock wood stick.

The three sticks were X-Lite (ACV, similar to SW 5030) with glass/kevlar blade, Omega (fibreglass reinforced, similar to SW 7000) and Inertia (graphite reinforced, similar to SW 9950) with the XX Pro stock wrap.

I have no idea how I still know that.

The ones we had never said anyting on them other than XX Pro Stock. Then there was a change for the following year with the exact same blades sporting the Omega name.

The discussion was wood sticks. If A2Rhino is talking blades then you're indeed correct.

That would explain my confusion.

I remember that, the P119 was the Sakic clone, those were pretty accurate. Looks like the Nash has changed significantly this year too.

It's too bad they don't have their own factory that would allow them a higher level of control.

One word: Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiina

Yes wood sticks. LOL!! How you remember all that stuff is a crack up JR.

I always thought that the wood sticks from TPS/Louisville were made here in their own factory. Shows you what I know.

Here, as in Louisville, KY?

No, sticks were always made in Canada. The hockey division started in the late 60s when they bought a stick plant in Wallaceburg, ON.

Ok so here I am AGAIN (5 YEARS LATER) asking if anyone has any idea what curve is similar to the old school TPS Omega woody: Teurgon heel wedge. Its somewhat between a Lidstrom and a Vanek.

Yeah that's a quite a bit deeper and lacks the open face. I'm really surprised this isn't a more popular curve. But with that being said I'm also surprised that the Vanek/Darby isn't either.

Dang Chad, you may have it my friend. I'm looking at it in the HM blade pattern. It says that the Wiz is a deep depth. Whereas the Teurgon was more of a moderate. Would love to post a pic of it however I havent mastered how to add photos here. Any help would be great. Thanks

Going to call Sherwood today and see if they have an answer for me as to what the name of this is now and or if they still make it.

The PP09 from Sherwood may work for you as well.

Thanks I'll check it out.

So I called Sherwood/TPS and had no luck. Was told this was before they took over the line and had no idea.
