Ciccarelli was yapping non-stop and Stevens got him quiet with a point to shoulder and mouthing "you're next." It had nothing at all to do with a fight, so I would just get back to watching pretty hits.

Yeah and I (as a diehard wings fan) was glad to see Stevens shut him the hell up. That hit was definitely one of the best, I remember the whole room screaming in my apartment and I think I dropped my sandwich on the floor... but I still ate it.

edit: Also, that "This is the hardest hit ever" video... I hope when that guy recovered from his concussion he pushed that D-man in front of a truck.

It's not that I have an issue with Stevens shutting up Dino, I just wasn't surprised at his ability to do it, He takes out Kozlov 5'11 190, shuts up Cicc, wow really? Or his (clean and totally brutal) hit on Kariya. I guess I am more impressed when he detonated Lindros or any of his hits on guys in his own weight class.

I have to agree with you on that one. He was how big and weighed how much? A lot more then the damn people he was crunching. How many big guys did he level? and Lindros doesn't count cause he was a pansy.

I don't play defence and never will, but any one that I've played with worth their salt will hit anyone that comes across the middle regardless of their weight. A hit like any of the aforementioned Stevens hits would be damaging to most players of any size.

skating that fast, I find it hard to believe Kovalev got elbowed, stood strong... gingerly reached for his face.. and then went along his merry way. I'll be it, Tucker was being an ass, and obviously messing with him... it looked like he made a motion and pulled away last second... drawing the penalty failed, so he took exception to the gesture. Tucker clips his own teammate harder than he makes contact with Kovalev... hilarious. You guys and your Kovalev crushes are just outta control sometimes..... haha
