Best hit Ever?

Recommended Posts

skating that fast, I find it hard to believe Kovalev got elbowed, stood strong... gingerly reached for his face.. and then went along his merry way. I'll be it, Tucker was being an ass, and obviously messing with him... it looked like he made a motion and pulled away last second... drawing the penalty failed, so he took exception to the gesture. Tucker clips his own teammate harder than he makes contact with Kovalev... hilarious. You guys and your Kovalev crushes are just outta control sometimes..... haha

I do have a man crush on Kovy. Always have, always will. Seeing him knock Tuckers teeth out only makes me love him that much more. OK , back on topic, the Konstantinov hit on Clod Lemieux was a beauty!

you can't really see it at the beginning you can only hear it but at the 1:03 mark you can see it all out as peca just kills selanne

I don't think Selanne is in the same area code as the puck for that hit. That's cheap.

I wish we had some Gordie Howe or Bobby Orr era hit footage.

It was a different game back then, you never see someone take a run halfway across the ice to try and behead someone in the old black and white footage.

If you were alive when the Bruins played in the early 70s and the Flyers played in the mid 70s, you would have seen it happen. Names? Cashman, Marcotte, McKenzie, Saleski, Kelly, Dupont, and of course, Schultz.

I was alive for some of those years, but not much of a fan at the time. Those teams are widely regarded as having given the sport a black eye and created an image that the sport still hasn't been able to live down.

...And then along came Larry Robinson. :)

At least they answered for it afterward.

I am obligated to vote for the Stevens hit on Lindros, if only because it effectively ended Lindros' career. I always wanted to buy a Lindros bobblehead and put whiteout on his eyes.

Possibly the greatest hit ever.......

Ha! I was actually there for that game. I was in Washington on vacation and I picked up some tickets on the way up to the wife's hometown. Father in law came along and pretty much was his first hockey game. I saw that hit and about yelled out loud "small town hockey is the SHIT!".

Too bad we lost in OT. The hit alone was worth the $18 tickets.

I think "the best hit" is the one that everyone skates away from and the guy that got it grins and keeps playin'.

Trying to kill fellow players is un-called for.
