Warrior AK27 XL

Recommended Posts

Is this shaft the same length as the retail ak27 with a longer end plug or it it actually 6 inches of composite material. Because the picture on monkey it just a regular ak27.

alot of nhl players don't use a wooden butt end - this would probably be how

i would imagine you just buy one that is super long and then just cut it down to the size you want.

can you just use a saw to do it? or is there some other tool that works better?

The make hacksaw blades that are made especially for graphite. They sort of have a really rough edge instead of teeth.

Golfsmith and other golf supply places have them

last question, is this 6" from the end of the wood plug or 6" from the end of the composite shaft when compared to the regular shaft.

I would say that it would be at the top end but I'm not 100% sure. It would change the kick point a lot to put it at the bottom. I realize putting the material at the top changes it as well but putting it on the bottom would have a greater effect.

For a constant flex profile shaft like the AK, it stays pretty close to your bottom hand/the center.

AK XL is only 100 flex and above anyway, right?

Warrior proabably churns out a big stick of 5 shafts at a time and cuts them down before graphics anyway, so it's not a big jump to get longer standard shafts.

standard shafts don't have a kick point like tapered shafts do

They absolutely can have a kickpoint. The materials can be laid differently to create a focused kickpoint in a standard shaft.

here are some places you can get hacksaw blades that can cut graphite just in case anyone was wondering

I always used a rod saw blade then I made clubs.

The real question is: if you flip it over and put the blade in the butt end, does it behave the same?

From the Warrior Catalogue

"And our constant flex profile gives you even stiffness whether you hold your shaft high or low"

That leads me to think it has a constant flex profile, meaning no engineered kickpoint like the One90 or Z-bubble/S17 standard shafts.

There is still a point where the shaft kicks though. It doesn't matter where your hand is, the stick will still kick at that engineered point.
