The 4th Staal?

Recommended Posts

So there's 3 Staal brothers in the NHL. I heard there is a 4th one most likely to get drafted by next season or something? Just curious... What league/team is he playing in now?

he's being touted as a second rounder int he 08 draft. He's not as hockey strong as Eric and Jordan were at the same age from what i hear. Cant really compare to Marc since he's a defender.

i heard somewhere that jared was meant to be the most talented out of the 4.. was this just total crap or is he actually pretty good?

I heard the same at around the time Eric started playing for the Canes and then it changed to the opposite when Jared played on Sudburys 4th line, it'd still be pretty hard to pass up a Staal brother though in the draft don't ya think?

given the canes draft position, I've got a sneaking suspiscion they're going to take Jared. The Staal brothers said that when they played their backyard hockey it was always, Eric and Jared versus the middle two borthers, Marc and Jordan. So, there's that bit of chemistry that's there already, and Eric had mentioned that he'd like to play with his brothers at some point in his career (said this when jordan was being drafted). We'll see what happens come june.

I'd like to see all four of them on one line. Maybe in the olympics if they are all good enough.

I wouldn't be shocked if the canes, rangers or pens take him. It would be pretty cool, but the canes have the best shot through position.

could be a late bloomer. Also, his brothers didn't have the pressure to preform that he has on him. well Marc and Jordan did a little, but nothing like Jarred.

I also heard that the 4th is suppose to be the best...

That was a misquote (likely from a Hockey News article circa 2005). Jordan was the one that was supposed to be described as "maybe the best of the bunch" but it was incorrectly attributed to Jared. Same kind of throwaway line like describing Colton Teubert as a "Pronger type" or Jimmy Hayes as "already better than James van Riemsdyk."

As stated earlier in this thread, Jared seems to be at best a 2nd round prospect in this year's draft. He didn't get any ice time in the OHL last year but posted decent numbers this year. Mostly just hear that he's an average skater right now.
