CCM U+ sticks comming in stock

Recommended Posts

Talked to my LHS and they said they are getting the CCM U+ sticks in tomorow, I can't wait to try one out. They also said that the S17's wont come in until June because they all were defected. Anyhow I read somewhere that the U+ hollow point blade was sealed shut or something because it was fraying? Anyone have any info on it?

The heel was open and you could look down the open top of the shaft and out the heel. JR reported that the company saw issues with the edges of the heel fraying and decided to close it off to avoid potential durability claims (or something to that effect).

No, what I said was that the edges were fraying - and while it was not affecting the stick at all, they closed it up so that consumers would not try to claim it as a defective product.

That's what I was trying to say!

My LHS told me none of their shipments are going to start showing up until June. Bastards.

I just received one last week for the U+ display and it still had the open bottom.. Who knows maybe they just shipped those out for the displays and are shipping different ones for stock

does anyone know the weight of the u+ or does it feel heavy

I picked up a U+ stick yesterday from the display... very light. The blade looks thin, very very thin.

I have one with the open heel...Very Light, VERY WELL Balanced...shaft feels a tad thin, but you'll have that with the concaves...I like mine a Lot, only if they had a 3/8 Mid Heel curve. I got an 85, a little whippy for my liking, shoulda gone with a 100. Nothing I can't overcome.

On the stick display (from rep.). Please take notice this stick does not have the hollow point energy transfer hole in the bottom of the heel filled in. This stick is for display purposes only and does not carry a warranty if sold. The purpose for the hole not being filled in on the display is to show the precise steel mandrel manufacturing that we are using on the U+ stick.

Ok now Im confused. Let me know if I have this straight then. The sticks that will be for sale at my hockey store whenever they come in will have closed heels with the energy transfer technology or w/e it is(I was hoping they would have a open heel, I would feel cooler)?

I don't understand, open heel? This stick has been intriguing since i first saw pics, and would love to see some more in depth ones. If anyone could help "un-confuse" me, that'd be great lol.

Makes sense. Does it work? IMO the original stealth was the best stick ever because it performed, regardless of durability. Is this stick able to do the same? Or is it built quite durably?

It has good balance, and a very clean stick. Nothing like CCM has ever put out before.

It's not ridiculously blade heavy? I liked the V10 and if outdoes that in shooting performance i'll probably cream. CNT stealth and V10 are probably my favorite shooting sticks by far.

I picked up the U+ and a V10, and it is completely different. The U+ is much lighter and better balanced. It isn't blade heavy at all.

It also looks very sharp. Love the black look.
