Easton Synergy ST Grip (2006)

Recommended Posts

I can get these sticks for $100, and want to know if this is a good deal.

I play where the Florida Panthers practice, and the guy on my team who works at the pro shop gave me 2 Easton Synergy pro-stock sticks. They are blue and look like the ST. I like them as they feel very durable and I get a great shot.

I can get the 2006 Synergy ST grip (Heatly 100) for $100 each, and I first want to know if it is a good deal, and also if anyone has had experience with this stick.

I am a 6'-0" 215lb defenseman. Play 2-3 nights a week. Looking for hard and accurate slapshots, and some good feel for passing. Not overly concerned about weight as I used to use the 5030, but I am concerned about durability with the stick as a whole as well as the blade not getting mushy.

Also wondering about the Heatly 100, and if it is a good pattern for a defenseman and for slapshots (and what downsides the pattern may have)

I read the review, but I would like to get more recent comments, and ones specifically related to my needs, and this price.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for hard and accurate slapshots.

This depends on your shot, a stick wont give you this.

This is all personal preference. What may work for some people wont work for others.

If the stick is brand new, that's not too bad of a price for it IMO

Let me clarify. I am not looking for the stick to GIVE me a hard and accurate slapshot. I am very happy with my shot with the Pro Stock Synergys that I use now. I only ask if this stick will be comparable. Also, I ask about the curve in respects to the toe shape and curve typ, in respects to use as a defenseman and for slapshots. The curve I have now opens up a bit and my shots tend to go higher. It seems the heatly curve doesnt open up, so that might be better.

Anyone have experience with this stick? Is $100 each a good deal? Is it durable?

I guess it is a moot point now. They only had 2 left, so I bought them.

I guess you'll find out then :)

LOL. Indeed!

I read the reviews and they all said the durability was one of the strong points of this stick. If these are like the pro stock synergy's I have, I think I will be happy.

I decided to get the Heatly curve as it has a square toe for digging out pucks along the boards, a 5 lie which is what I am used to, and not an open face as I am trying to keep my shots down, and 100 flex as I am a defenseman and about 215lbs.

Is this sound reasoning?

I've used ST's in the past, and loved the sticks, mine were pro stock Drury's i got from Saginaw OHL. One stick was super light, and the other, super heavy. I don't know which curve you used before you got this Heatley, and if it is a Heatley its most likely not pro stock, its the retail curve and the blade is very short, and feels disproportionated when you play, but thats what i thought of the curve.

Anyone use the new 08's yet? Just got one a few days ago and have used it a couple of times. So far I'm not liking it. Anyone else have any experiences with it yet?

i loved my 06 model, most durable thing I've ever owned. I couldn't feel the puck too well, and it was a little stiffer than I expected my 85 flex to be. But it definitely had its benefits. Good stick, good investment. It lasts. Just wasn't my style though, it's night and day between shooting that vs my warrior.

The stick is relatively stiff though it lasts forever. If you get the right flex you can get a pretty nasty slapper with it. I got mine for $100 and it was well worth it.

I got the sticks today, and it seems that they are the 07 model. Nice looking stick, and I like the curve. I got two more Pro Stock Synergys (blue) from my friend and they are the HILL model I think. I am not sure what you mean by the blade being a lot smaller....it is just a c-hair shorter than the pro stock blade. Nice looking stick, not noticibly heavier than the pro stock. Happy so far, we will see if I remain happy after using it on the ice.
