Recommended Posts

i have had this dilema for a while now. I write left handed, shoot hockey left handed, throw a baseball/football right handed. which way should i swing a club?

whatever is most comfortable. go somewhere like GolfGalaxy or somewhere that lets you test clubs and swing away! Just see what feels best. I do know of some people that drive and hit right handed, but putt left handed.

I write lefty but play most sports "right" handed. Baseball for throwing and batting, golfing, hockey, etc. Only things I do lefty are one-handed sports like tennis.

It's whatever is more natural for you. Pick up some clubs and just swing. If it feels wrong or one side has a lot better form, go with it.

I don't think it's a question we can answer for you. There is no set "rule" you need to follow. The suggestion to go to a shop and demo both right and lefty clubs is spot on. Go with what feels best.

I do everything right-handed except play hockey. This includes golf but there is no set rule like Monty said. The best thing you can do to find out is to try it out on your own but if it's of any matter to you, I rarely see people playing golf lefty.

I play right handed even though I shoot left and bat lefty when I play baseball. I do putt lefty though. I don't feel I have enough touch putting right handed. My dad and grandfather both played right handed and are both do everything else lefty. My grandfather used to tell me that when he learned how to play that left handed clubs were hard to find. So he had to play righty. Now it should be easy to find left handed clubs, so you should definitely go with whats more comfortable. You could also go to a driving range and try both.

I heard Phil Mickelson plays lefty because he learned from his parents who are lefty even though he is a righty with everything else.

I tried to play righty at first, but couldn't do it. Looked all over and found some lefty clubs, felt much better. I don't play often enough to be any good, but you'll have a lot more fun using the correct clubs. I'm right hand dominant, but golf , play hockey and bat lefty BTW.
