nike/bauer vs easton

Recommended Posts

looking for a new stick, been using easton for awhile and liked them but would like to try the top end n/b sticks. i am looking at a naslund XXXX because it is the closest to easton sakic, has anyone on here used the s17 and the XXXX?

also if your stick breaks under warranty do they give you the choice of 190 or XXXX stick in case i dont like the XXXX stick?

I have used:

Easton S17 Sakic 100 Flex Grip

NBH XXXX Naslund 87 flex.

As far as the curves go, I couldnt tell a difference. Ditto for performance. S17 maybe had a slight edge in balance and kick.

Just as an indicator of which I liked more - I have owned 4 S17s and 1 XXXX.

The XXXX seemed too "slick" for my liking.

edit - forgot an 'x'

NB has allowed warranty replacements to be different than the original stick, however it depends who you deal with. They have to do it when the original is no longer available. You will never be able to replace a Vapor XXV with a XXXX or another case where the two sticks are at far different price levels.

yea Naslund is 6 and Sakic is 5.5

Sure, that is what the specs claim but the two blades are virtually identical, right down to the lie.

Why do they list it differently then? And so are they both 5.5 or 6?

I noticed some heel wear on my Naslund so I was thinking about getting a Sakic, maybe I have to rethink.

The old Nash, listed as 5.5, is different than the lie on the Naslund by a little bit. Not sure about the new Nash.

i used a s17 100 flex and now using a xxxx 77 flex. i liked the s17 and it had a great kick but i broke the blade in about 2 months. i been using the xxxx for about about 2 months and it's durable but the kick isnt the same. could be the flex. overall i went back to a cnt.

Didn't wanna make a new thread, but I just want to know about the Sakic vs Naslund curve.. are they really the same lie? If so, which is the correctly listed lie?

Thanks! In that thread they're saying the Sakic has changed to a deeper curve in that time (2006), can anybody confirm the lie is still a hair lower than the Naslund?
