This online retailer is pretty shady. He frequently advertises products that he doesn't carry, then will refund your money after weeks in wait, essentially garnering interest free loans from people. That was just my experience.

That was just my experience along with a buddy of mine out of state. Maybe they have inventory issues. Either way I needed what I though I had ordered and was unable to get it:(

I bought from the guy in the past (about 2 years ago)and he was able to give me better pricing than anyone else (I needed a bunch of Itech goal jocks to ship overseas. And a bunch of something else (I don't remember exactly what). I believe I spent over $1.5k with him. Communication was fine, shipping time was fine too. Nothing shady. I wouldn't rush bashing the guy if he didn't have something in stock. It's always better to find out about all circumstances involved before passing a judgment, especially publicly. Having a huge inventory may be a burden sometimes.

So I would refrain from giving a negative public reference that potentially could hurt the guy's business. Who knows, maybe he already is struggling...I'd communicate with him via e-mail or by phone instead.

BTW, how many of you placed online orders with major retailers and ended up getting an e-mail that the item(s) on the order are out of stock? Happened to me a lot.

My best luck with an item being out of stock was when HG had the policy that if you ordered something online that's out of stock, they'd give you a free Gear locker bag.

One time the $5 item I ordered was out of stock, so they just sent me the bag without any forewarning. I called when I received it, they explained the policy to me, and I went to the store and got a $20 store credit for it :D

Just my two cents worth guys, I have delt with David from 247hockey and have found him to offer excellent service and pricing, I ordered 5 sets of goalie gear from him and he went out of his way to ship them to me here in Australia after usps would not ship. Extremely helpful gentleman.

That site has been around for some time now. I've ordered a couple different items off there, no problems for me.

He doesn't have a storefront, I believe he buys everything from distributors because none of the MI sales reps even know who he is, and he doesn't have an account. He is most likely ordering as he gets the product orders.

I'll leave it at that. Caveat emptor - especially when it comes to warranty - he isn't an authorized dealer.

For those that 247hockey.com means the world to them, Im not bashing the guy Im just stating my experience as well as anothers. Now these may be isolated events, but now knowing that the guys isnt even an authorized retailer of equipment and he's basically hustling to make things work, I am less inclined to hold that against him. Either way, I should have just gone with what I know, hockeygiant and ebay. Im not worried about the guy losing any business, as he can do that all on his own.

I have bought from them once and it was a good overall experience. Got a great price on inline skates, and the shipping was fast.
