I finally did it, it took over a year, but was sooooo worth it.

I have a Thursday night pickup game with the same group of 30 guys.

It's pretty competitive but always fun.

A little over a year ago, one of the goalies brought a regular Gatorade bottle onto the ice to leave on top of his goal.

Like this one: gatorade.jpg

I told him that he shouldn't leave that on top of the goal because it can break. He laughed at me and said you wish. I told him I was gonna break it.

So, for the last year, any time I get the opportunity to go top shelf, I aim for the bottle. I've knocked it off dozens of times, he laughs, puts it back on top of the net, and we keep playing.

Last Thursday was my night. I was playing left side D and intercepted a poor clearing attempt. I skate to the top of the circle, fake a shot, pull the puck around the defense man, wait for the goalie to go down, and rip a wrister over his shoulder into the top corner. BOOM!!!! An explosion of Gatorade. I finally broke the bottle!!!

I celebrate like I have never celebrated a goal before as the ice around the goal is now orange. Both benches celebrated with me as they know for how long I have been trying to do this. For the rest of the game I had this huge grin on my face every time I saw the orange ice.

We were teasing him in the locker room after the game and he said he was going to bring back the same type of bottle. I told him to bring red this time, I think it'll make the ice prettier!

Just thought I'd share one of my most fun moments on the ice.

Next time you hit it in the air, catch it and drink it all in one motion. Thats when you chuck it back at the goalie. I've always thought of this move but never really thought it could be done. You would have to hit the bottle with enough velocity to get in the air while driving hard to the net to catch it. If anyone can get this done on tape, I'd be beyond impressed.

We had a goalie with "red" Gatorade, and a guy hit it. From where I was it looked like blood. I thought 'Tendy had been cut bad. Took a couple seconds to realize what had happend.

Never done it with a gatorade bottle but I have broken a few water bottles and it's always fun. Nothing like beating a goalie with a shot and drenching his back in the process. In most cases the key is hitting the lid, they tend to break much more easily than the bottle itself.

Chadd, its difficult enough to get passed the goalie and now you want us to aim for the lid? Your too crazy man. I envy you.

i have been drenched only once. the kid hit the straw joint thing where it connects with the bottle and broke it. i really liked that bottle with the straw too. <_<

Best bottles ever designed. No need for a straw as it always seems to produce a nice tight stream.

Lemme know when you bust the juicer with a backhander. I was pretty pleased with myself for a few seconds after I pulled that one off.

No bottle is designed to be used as a puck. Ours have been dropped, tossed, kicked and stepped on with no problems.

We just bought a six pack of these for our teams. But I agree, there's a reason they go for like a buck and a half. I've seen them busted more than a few times. I'm going with cheap made in China crap.
