new skates

Well before i tore my ACL and MCL i was skating in ccm vector pros' overall i was happy with the skate they held up well and didnt hurt my feet...well as you can tell those are old skates and im looking for a pair of new ones, because i want to start playing again..but i feel like all the new skates are head and shoulders above what i had. I was looking at the new CCM u's are they going to be compairable or it is a diffrent skate? im not sold on CCM so if you have any other skates that i can check out let me know

yeah i would agree with you...but ive never been fit for a skate the right way( poor LHS) that and the last time i looked at skates was when i was buying the ccm pro's

even if the guy at the LHS doesn't know what he or she is doing, just go and try on as many different skates as possible that are in your price range. the ones that feel the best are your choice. try the U+, One95, Vapor XXXX, 9k pump, S15, Graf 703/5/9, Graf G3/5/7, etc. and just see what you like the best.

yeah i will...but they only carry CCM and Bauer so i dont really have alot of skates to try on

searched but didnt find the answer..i tryed on a pair of XXXX size 9.5 then fit really well but may be to stiff for me...and i was just looking around on line and found a pair of XXX size 9.5..do they fit the same? and as far as stiffness..is the XXX less stiff?

You said you LHS stocks NBH- if the XXXX is too stiff maybe you should try one of the lower tier models in that line.

yes the xxx is less stiff. i had a ton of forward lean in my xxx's

The Vapor XXXX and the Vapor XXX lines fit differently. The Vapor XXXX and its variants (XXV) were designed to fit a larger group of players..Somewhat deeper skate and different toe box...I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain on this. I couldnt fit comfortably into the Vapor XX or Vapor XXX series skates, but the Vapor XXXX is pretty comfortable, I just prefer the ankle support the One95/One75/One55 skates give me.

I had Vector Pros and needed to replace them. I tried on One95s and didn't like the extreme stiffness. Bought Easton S15s and now I'm selling them. They fit good in the store but never wrapped the bottom of my foot for that secure feeling you really want. Then I ordered RBK 9Ks and I returned them - too big. I ended up in Bauer Vapor XXXX and I'm sooooo happy. Try them!!!!! They really aren't too stiff.

I stayed away from the Vapor line because of the narrow boot, and moves to the supreme 70's (which may be an option for you, they're on sale now). The XXV's are also a great skate, a bunch of my teammates have them and love them. One kid even went from XXXX's to XXV's and says he would never go back.

I've got CCM V10 SEs and love them but my buddy who owns a LHS got in the U+ a few months back and after seeing how amazingly light and simple and comfortable they are - I might have to just fork over the $460 just because. Check them out if CCMs fit your foot best. Later,

Shouldn't be an issue. Just get the regular CCM Proformance light steel runners.

If your sharpener is bad, they will be bad whether on regular steel or the rockets. The rockets are not difficult to sharpen, just tell your sharpener to visit the CCM website and watch the video. No big deal.

thats true..i would hate to have them mess up a skate that cost that much money.why's it gotta be hard to find someone that knows what there doing!
