shining plastic?

Recommended Posts

I used shoe polish for my black helmet. Got the reccomendation from an ECHL referee I reffed with. Works pretty well, just dont touch your helmet till it dries. Youll have to reapply it fairly often if you want it to stay that way, but its very easy.

Didn't anyone ever tell you you'll go blind polishing your helemt?

Sweet dear jesus that was perfect.... ;)

Mothers polish would also do the trick for you.

Black shoe polish sounds like a good idea on the helmet. I use plastic polish from the auto parts store on my visor when it gets funky. It wont take out big scratches but definitely helps clean up the small ones that make it hard to see.

Don't use any chemicals on a helmet, it could result in breakdown and will violate the warranty in most cases. Just put a buffing pad on a cordless drill and polish as best you can. If you want to keep it from getting scratched up, just put it in a pillowcase.

You should just put that in your sig line. It comes up often enough.

I've used Novus plastic polish -- but in a pinch, toothpaste has worked before. Results may vary.

The imates you toothpaste for their shoes and hanging pictures. I have used it in rental properties to fill tack holes in drywall.

You can pick novus up at most motorcycle shops. I have used it on visors, windsheilds, as well as removing scratches from cds. There are three grades of it. Make sure you dont get the coarse.

At this point I'm just in favor of people getting brain damage through sheer stupidity. I mean as long as they're part way there, why stop them from going all in?

Blacks Tire Magic.

It will make black plastic look new and help with the scratches, never used it on a helmet before..... Be wary though it will be slippery.
