TheBert 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 I've used Novus plastic polish -- but in a pinch, toothpaste has worked before. Results may vary.
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 I used shoe polish for my black helmet. Got the reccomendation from an ECHL referee I reffed with. Works pretty well, just dont touch your helmet till it dries. Youll have to reapply it fairly often if you want it to stay that way, but its very easy. jeffw 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Black shoe polish sounds like a good idea on the helmet. I use plastic polish from the auto parts store on my visor when it gets funky. It wont take out big scratches but definitely helps clean up the small ones that make it hard to see.

Chadd 916 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Don't use any chemicals on a helmet, it could result in breakdown and will violate the warranty in most cases. Just put a buffing pad on a cordless drill and polish as best you can. If you want to keep it from getting scratched up, just put it in a pillowcase.

Results may vary. The imates you toothpaste for their shoes and hanging pictures. I have used it in rental properties to fill tack holes in drywall. You can pick novus up at most motorcycle shops. I have used it on visors, windsheilds, as well as removing scratches from cds. There are three grades of it. Make sure you dont get the coarse.
