Rustpot 1 Report post Posted July 9, 2008 I have IBS. It's not so bad, I just make sure to eat at least 2 hours before playing to let everything run its course before game time. You've also got to find out what some of the triggers are and stay away from them. I love lasagna and other Italian foods, but I've got to clear my schedule after eating them.I have lost my love of a good steak though. As much as I used to love steak, it's not worth a whole day of pain and suffering afterwards.
gxc999 7 Report post Posted July 9, 2008 I was actually diagnosed with this myself. I started to take a ton of probiotics, not just acidophilus but comprehensive enzymes etc and it virtually solved 95% of my problem. Oh and yes, you will have to change your diet atleast somewhat. Another thing that bothers is Nestea Ice Tea and all pop products, Gatorade also I don't understand this but certain body sprays.I also know that this product helps him outhttp://www.drdavidwilliams.com/Products2.aspx?ProductID=PA31it helps him digest different foods
Rustpot 1 Report post Posted July 9, 2008 I was actually diagnosed with this myself. I started to take a ton of probiotics, not just acidophilus but comprehensive enzymes etc and it virtually solved 95% of my problem. Oh and yes, you will have to change your diet atleast somewhat.Thankfully my case is mild enough that I don't have too many problems. I do, however, get very irritated at how inconsistent things can be. A bowl of cereal on Tuesday will be fine, a bowl of cereal Wednesday morning will make my pre-lunch work horrible. It would be good to find out exactly what's wrong and to try and find out non medicinal treatments if possible. I don't medicate, I just shy away from anything that might make my day a living hell.edit- I think certain spices or acid balances are the thing for a lot of it. Pop and gatorade sugars may be upsetting for him. I can't eat Pizza Hut, but other places are fine for me. Most restaurant food will trigger for me as well (probably the high-fat cooking style). Rustpot 1 Report post Posted July 10, 2008 Rustpot- you been tested for Celiac Disease? It is often misdiagnosed as IBS.I hope to God I don't have Celiac. I eat so much bread I'd be very afraid.I think I'm in the clear though- fat guy who eats a ton of bread is surely getting all the nutrients from his food.
