Who's Affie?

Recommended Posts

I just got an amazing RH RBK 7K Pro Stock with the player name "Affie". I searched everywhere trying to figure out who the player is but I cant seem to find anything. Anyone know? As well as if there are any other of his sticks available? Thanks in advance.

P.S. this pic doesn't do it justice. It has more of a Toe on it then it looks like here.

Afanasenkov?

Afinogenov?

Not sure if I've seen either of their curves. They probably use a very "Russia" (ie: Kovalchuk-Ovechkin-ish) curve.

based on pattern, Alfredsson. Possibly Afinogenov, but that's just a guess as I dont know what he uses.

That's not Afanasenkov.

I have seen Alfredssons pattern before and it actually isnt that close. His starts more at the Heel. And is definately longer

I was thinking Afanasenkov but his seems to be a lot less of a smooth curve. Also the Afana is definately a longer blade. This one is very short.

Afinogenov uses a curve that resembles a PM9 (his curve has a different lie and more squarish-toe).

I got it off Ebay. The seller lives in Florida... Hmm, Afanasenkov played most his career in Tampa. Im surprised no one knows who Affie is. I would think if a player got that on their stick it would be a pretty commonly known nickname. Oh well, we may never know.

I seen 3 versions of Afanasenkov sticks and none look close to that.

Affy used M-1s, 7K(prolite) and Warrior Dolomites.

This is a 7K Pro Lite. I was looking at his pics from 2006 on gettyimages and it looks like it could be the same.

RBK, makes sense...they fudged so many patterns. Telling ya, reason why it's a pro return.

+1. One good question is if it was his ideal pattern, why was it returned?

Flex, finish, shaft shape, blade type, balance, etc etc.

I refer back to the old story of Yzerman sending back a batch sticks he thought was trash (Christian, Titan?) only to have the company repaint them, send them back and him to tell them the new sticks were golden.

According to TBL, it's not close so it would be sent back because the pattern wasn't right.

Rustpot - that would be Louisville

My theory is that "Affie" had it sent back so Poor Toe Hook starved guys like myself could dangle rec leaguers. This is what i've decided and no one will change my mind.

Plus in Tampa, everyone spells his nickname "Affy" :P

Like I implied, if it is a returned Afanasenkov, don't bother trying to find another one because I've seen the patterns on the 3 sticks and none look like that. The mission was more toe-y and the RBK/Warriors were very close to the kovalchuk.
