Custom s15's

Recommended Posts

if only they were half a size bigger ;P

interesting - 9.5 seems to be a very popular size then (including me there's already 2 mentions of it in this thread alone :) )

I found the fit to be just a tad different. The 8.5 s15 fit me, and the 8.5 1500 was a bit small.

At the Devils equipment sale one of the shop guys bought Parise's Easton skates. The back of the boot to the top front eyelets also had more volume than the retail S15. Moral of the story: Pros have big ankles.

I have custom fitted S15s. :D
Don't look at me. Easton told me they wouldn't allow me to do custom skate orders.

I wonder how that is done with the composite. Is it the same shape shell, but different shape of the inner lining?

I know you do, but I am saying that they wouldn't allow me to do custom skate orders for customers.

The majority of the ones are stock shell.

If you are a NHLer they can customize shell. I've sharpened Nick Lidstrom's skates and he's got Haglund's bumps on his feet and Easton punched out the heels of his SyNergys. It's a pretty substantial punch.

First game on them tonight. Felt great, and felt really comfortable on them right from the first minute, just like my old s15's. Heavier, but damn protective, and didnt notice the weight after 5 minutes. I took a HARD slapshot off the inside middle of my foot, and the guys on my bench all groaned loudly. One guy thought I was going crumple over on the ice writhing in pain. I didnt feel a thing with the double layer of composite. Still VERY agile, and I just felt quicker. I give them an a+ for comfort (not an ounce of discomfort), performance (like an s15 but stiffer), and protection. The durability remains the unknown, but the way these are put together (hand made in canada with TONS of extra reinforcement) I have high hopes that they will last. That is all for now. Im beat.
