Grip Flex Comparison

Bought the Oggie ergo Jr. grip for my sons stick - he was getting a new stick so I decided to add it to his outgoing (now a bakup) stick.

Didn;t like it at all because:

1) Had to cut quite a bit off - so it is not reversible - big bummer.

2) Grip too thin at hand spot.

3) People all look at you funny like "teach him how to shoot correctly" instead of relying upon gimmicks.

4) Just too much of a departure from what already works (traditional stick ends are not that bad - if it aint broke don't fix it).

5) Could not get any more power, whip, flex than before (did not improve shot at all).

Sorry, just didn't like it and felt like I had wasted $20. May be fine for some but not for me.

Hmm. Can't help think that this is a planted post. <_< With all the other hockey equipment out there, your first and only post is a critique about an oggie grip? Plus at the beginning you said it was for your son's stick at the end you said it's not for you. Who's using it, you or him?

While everyone has differing preferences, those two statements are utterly asinine.

While we often have "plants" here they usually suggest an alternative product, not just bash something.

I was just responding to a thread about an oggie grip on another forum and I thought of something.

I had an issue with the R10 OPS(regular flex), out of all the sticks I've used, I've never had it happen to me... but twice the butt end of the stick kicked out of my hand(lower hand remained holding the stick) on snapshots. The R10 has the tri-flex zone with the top being the whippiest, so it seems comparable to what an oggie would provide. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this.

Never had that happen with any of my Oggies, but I always use the ergo grips. A regular Oggie might be more prone to it.

No. The grips are pretty tacky, as well as the palms of some gloves on the market, so I sometimes have the opposite effect -- I can't get my glove off the stick quickly enough to catch a puck as it's flying by. Also, I get a much tighter hole due to the smaller size of the grips.

The truth is, even though the Oggies provide more flex and it's isolated to the wrist, I can't claim that I notice the whip. It's not like a recoil from a rifle.

I know its an old post but....

Can I get the pro version now?? Or any version? I have a couple shafts that are way too stiff to use....would consider trying one of these after reading this entire post! Can you set me up Joe? Thanks
