Kevin 5 Report post Posted September 12, 2008 If I can add correctly, it sounds like you only have nine or ten players, including a goalie (unclear whether counting yourself).

Based on my men's league experience, there are always a few players missing every game. A roster of 13-14 skates is usually needed to get ten skaters on the ice. ktang 34 Report post Posted September 12, 2008 UPDATE. So I find out that the "core" guys of the team have no balls to tell this guys he's not a good fit any more. So what has happened since the last time I posted is that 7 guys walked from the team(my self included). So instead of losing one guy they lost 7. Pretty stupid to me but what ever. I got tired of the back and forth shit, so I got 5 of the 7 that walked to start up and new team. Funny thing is that another team in the league split also and i picked up 4 guys from that team. I'm sure we will suck but it's better then having bad blood in our own locker room. I cant wait to play them though since they still have to find skaters and a goalie, Goalie came with me. :PIt looks like you "won" a phyrric victory, and it was probably a shock to the other team "manager" that as many as 7 guys, including the goalie, left. This always seems to happen; the "manager" thinks that because he is doing all the hard behind-the-scenes work, his / her players must appreciate it and therefore must agree with what s/he decides.Anyways, even if you need to pick up a couple of other players, at least most of your players have played a season or more together and know each other. Now the trick is to get the two main groups (your 5 and the other 4) to gel.
cmvondran 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 Our season starts this thursday. I ended up with 13 skaters and a goalie. Thats enough that if everyone shows, I'll have 3 forward lines and 2 d lines. We play the team we split from the second game. I know have a new fight on my hands...... this is with the rink....... we have 7 teams in the league so it screwws up scheduling but right now are games are played at 8,9,10. My team has 12 of 23 games at 10. Theres two team with no games at 10 and one with no games at 9 or 10. The need to redo the schedule to make it a little more fair. Chadd 916 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 In our league the teams that have been around for a while often get the best schedules, especially if they are friends with the league administrator.

AnthonyJTa 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2008 In our league the teams that have been around for a while often get the best schedules, especially if they are friends with the league administrator.Been there, done that before... only the other end of the spectrum. A new team formed out of all the 'single players' that showed up for registration... we ended up with all 11:30 games (Tues/Thursday nights)... not fun at all. Then a team called "Guinness Crew" pulls a no-show for a game scheduled for St Patrick's Day... we got the ice for an hour, but didn't get the 2 points for a forfeit. Because they were tight with the guys who run the league, we got to reschedule.
