i want to switch from this curve, because it is very hard to find, what curves do you suggest that is similar to these? People who have used these in the past, what have you switched to?

Is there anything that is like a sakic toe curve in retail? Or another curve like that?

There have been topics on this before...

Easton stopped producing the Shanny and Bauer's p10 is only available through their iD program. There are no retail curves available that are anywhere close (mid-toe curve, square toe, long blade).

Yea i know thats why i want to switch from it, because i dont feel lik paying $200 for a stick and not have many options. I searched but couldnt find any good suggestions about wat i curve i could switch to a curve that is at least open/slightly open, has a decent sized curve, and is close as i can to a toe curve at retail, i dont really care about the shape of the toe, or too much about the lie either. I might be willing to try some mids, but i would prefer a curve close to a toe.

I just did some looking and the nike bauer p92 looks pretty decent, how would you compare the two?

The Christian/harrow Recchi clone is a long toe curve with a bit of loft at the end. The biggest difference is the lower lie on their blade. you can get it in a tapered blade and not have to pay $200 just to try one. The wood blades weren't as long as the composite blades.

Sakic isn't a toe curve and is unlike the Shanny is virtually every way. The Sakic is much more open, is curved along most of the blade and has a huge rocker on the bottom of the blade.

Yea i know that the sakic is different, but i knd of wanted to get away for the shanahan because i want to find a curve that is more readily available, so i dont really, cbut right now the only curves i have really ruled out are heel/mid-heel curves, im really open to suggestions, the two shots i use most often are my backahnd and wrist shot, so i want something that is good for my backhand and something that i can stickhand good with. Those are two things that i liked about my p10 curve, the stickhandling and backhand were nasty and i really dont want those to go away, because those were two of my biggest weapons.

Sakic is probably the worst retail curve for backhands. The shanny was very flat for most of the length and that's what made it great for backhand shots and passing, the sakic bends pretty much the length of the blade.

yea, so do you have any other suggestions for a curve that is good for backhanders and stickhandling or is the christan the only curve out there?

Since you ruled out heel or mid heel curves, there's nothing I can suggest.

As other's have said, you can look at Recchi, old Messier, old Lindros, Iginla, Leopold 2 curves for something that you can more easily tolerate coming from the Shanny curve.

A toe curve suggeestion for you, though, have you checked out Fury's K.PRIMEAU curve? I am not sure what the high school naming convention is on the Payback models, but they made a whole year's worth so there are a ton out there (check EBay).

You can still probably find it on the Diamondback and Sidewinder sticks, too.

It's very straight, with a deep toe curve that opens up like a scoop the last 2 inches or so of the blade.

Speaking of the Sakic, are there any of the "Sakic clones" (p92, Draper, etc.) out there that don't have as much rocker on the bottom? I always like the shape of the p10, but had to take a blowtorch to it to get some more curve. Thanks.
