#44wannabe 4 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 Hey guys i was wondering if i could have some input as to what league is better? The KJHL Jr B league or the MMJHL?I am able to attend a KJHL and an MMJHL camp next week as the times dont overlap but i wanted your guys opinions too.In the MMJHL we would play 45 games and practice once a week, in the KJHL we would play 40 and practice twice a week. Thanks

tips09 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Oh ok i forgot you went to manitoba for tryouts... from what ive heard the K is alot better... when i was out in manitoba i was talking to a few buddys and they were saying that out there jr b is more just a place to fight and screw around and not really a stepping stone for jr A. I havent actually seen any games so i dont know if there is any truth to that but the K will give you lots of opportunities to move on to the next level as it is a great league. Dougie8 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 He said KJHL, not KIJHL. I made that mistake before, I believe the KJ is in Manitoba?Edit:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_Junior_Hockey_LeagueKeystone Jr Hockey in Manitoba.
Stampeder 2 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 I would pray for my life if I had to play in that KJHL league. Those are mostly teams from Reserves. I played against a lot of their minor teams growing up and they would have some really good players but they were always the dirtiest teams.
Neal 41 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 If the KJHL is your choice, you'd better be dedicated. that road trip to Norway House is evil. 11 hour drive in the middle of a Manitoba winter.
#44wannabe 4 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 Well if they're going to pay me (which one of the teams said they would) what works out to up to $700 a month then hell yeah i'll take that road trip!
bdj 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2008 From what I remember you could always count on 2 things when playing a reserve team. A win and a brawl.
jerkymerk 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2008 The KJHL is nothing like it used to be, theres hardly any fights, the reserve teams arn't that dirty infact they had one of the best teams in the league last year (norwayhouse). Arborg ice dawgs is kind of a farm team for Dauphin, Dauphin was sending players back and forth from there last year. Plus the teams take care of you very well. Rumor was that some of the best players on Norwayhouse were getting payed $3000 a month to play.Jr.B is not a joke league like it may have once been, maybe you guys should get some valid info before giving him bad ideas. g0o0nshow 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2008 My team went to the Junior B westerns last year (Grandview Steelers) we played Selkirk and Norway House from that league. Both teams were good, but the game against Norway house was pretty intense haha. We didn't know what to think when they were smoking before the game but damn did they work hard on the ice.
