Need help fast please - I might have made a mistake ordering.

Does a 10D to a 10ee get any LONGER in actual last or foot bed length? I know it will be wider but a shop employee who is also a current Jr. A player just old me all I'm getting by ordering a 10ee will be basically a size 11 skate. He says if a 10d fit lengthwise (but was too harrow) a 10ee will be too long and sloppy. I had assumed that the length of the last would be the same and the toe cap would just be wider.

Any opinions on the length thing.

Thanks everyone

ACTUALLY, it's not physically longer, but does FIT longer: since the heel is wider, the same foot would sit further back in the skate giving it a tad longer feel since your foot is further back.

that's very helpfull to know, and i think you're right. i have a pair of NBH in size 8.5EE and i feel the heel a little wide and i always asked myself if the boot is to big for me. now i know for sure what i'll get next, a pair in size 8.5D vapor xxv. now all i godda do is make some money :P

Won't the heel still be an A width regardless of if being a D or a EE ?

Only if it's a custom order. Stock EE widths have B heels. This is a good example of why junior players should rarely be selling gear.

If the boot fits well in the forefoot you will have problems with the 8.5D

If the boot is sloppy all the way around you'll be fine.

Playing Junior hockey and selling hockey gear is fine. Most shop employees play hockey. The problem is not that he plays. The problem is that he was misinformed about skate sizing. No need to throw Junior hockey players under the bus. They have to ride it every week-end.

This would explain why all of us went down a 1/2 size when we got our first pair of one90's.

I wore a 8 EE in Vapors but wear a 7.5 EE in the Supremes (both one90's and one95's).

That being said, now that my 95's have broken in I would like to add that these are probably the best skates I've ever worn. You can put all of your weight on the sides of the boots and they don't give. Very structurally sound boot.

In my experience I tend to go down half a size down with a wider with.. I can fit into a 10 D good length wise but the sides push in a little bit. A 10 EE feels a hair bit too long on me ,however a 9.5 EE fits me like a glove length and width wise. Ive found this to be true with almost all skates i have tried on. When it comes to explaining this to customers they however come up with their own beliefs. Some that know me stick to what i say and others wont believe me no matter what i say or what i show to prove it.

the whole boot is to wide, i bought EE because there wasn't any other option at that point. at the shop where i bought them they only bring in EE width to be sure they sell all the pairs, and since it's the only shop that imports hockey skates... . next pair i'll get online since now i know the size that fits me best. thanks for the info, it's been very helpfull
