i thought the new premier 3's were REALLY cool when i first saw them, first i saw them on luongo and loved them, then saw them on lalime and nearly creamed my pants (huge sabres fan), but now since like every goalie and every backup wearing them is really wearing out the novelty.

that being said, it would still be a dream come true getting the set.

Because Osgoods used the type of pads he is now since he was playing on the Islanders. He is probably just comfortable in them and doesnt want to take the time of breaking in a new set when he is already playing fine with the ones he has.

aren't some other brands not allowed in the NHL anymore?

Well, you could cover up the logos if you really liked the stuff. That's what Tim Thomas did when he was wearing Smith.

But we have seen players like Dan Hinote and Kyle Okposo using torspo gloves, so im pretty sure thats not the case.

It's a different fee for goalie gear and forward gear. So if a company wants to outfit all positions, they need to pay two advertising fees. At least that's how I believe it works.

It's actually mutiple fees. Player categories are split up for sticks, gloves, skates and helmets (visors?) and I think all goalie gear is lumped together. It's something like $50,000 per category.
