Favorite team website...

I recently got hired to do a website for a professional hockey team which I unfortunately cannot name at this time. I was hoping to get some feedback form all of you regarding what your favorite professional team websites were and why. Aside from the obvious features (schedules, news, etc.) what othere things do you appreciate on a team site? What do you hate about most teams sites? The more feedback the better. Thanks guys!

Update... apparantly I'm only designing the interface and won't be doing any of the coding or be responsible for the implementation of any features. So with that in mind... which sites do you think look the best? My fav thus far is the Thrashers site. It's flashy yet elegant and as easy to interact with as any. I do like the Canucks site as well.

The Canucks have a real nice website, with a forum included. I also like when team's websites have not only the current roster, but the "in the system" players.

Information on the arena is always a plus. I know alot of sites have the "virtual seating" deal so you can get a ballpark idea of what your seats will be like.

Also fan-player relations is a good thing to have on the site. Something that might connect the fans with the players, even something like posting when and where theyll be for autograph sessions or fundraisers or something like that. Us fans always like to know whats up with our favorite players.

I forgot, its always nice to have wallpaper for different people on the team, or maybe even just a few with the team logo.

Get more personal with the information of the players, it is always interesting to see something like their favorite hockey player or maybe their favorite music band.

• Frequent updates

• Good wallpapers (ex Thrashers have same Kovalchuk and Heatley wallpapers from their rookie year & Blue Jackets didn’t update their wallpapers until 1 week left in last season)

• Mighty Ducks have a history tab on main screen that tells team records

Scoring leaders, most goals, fastest goals, draft pics, etc

• Red Wings have nice picture gallery that can be resized into wallpaper

I agrre with the "in the system" player bios as well as active roster. I like a decent image gallery, but how about audio/video galleryas well. Goal clips, big hits..things like that. If you have good agreements with your local radio/TV those should be easy enough.

The moose are garbage. Were getting a kick ass new arena though, right in heart of this garbage city. You might even be able to catch a double show, a moose game and watching someone get killed outside the doors.
