Lemieux trying to pull a comeback

Recommended Posts

Steve Downie is kind of a Claude Lemieux with less class - which I had previously thought ethically impossible, but there you go.

Sidenote: do not feed the troll.

well, i think he may be playing tonight. im going to try to watch the game. as a Devils fan I have a certain nostalgia for him as he was on 2 of our cup teams and played a big (con smythe) role on the '95 cup. i can only imagine the amount of determination it takes at 43 to be in the mind set as well as physical shape to play in the NHL again. i have to commend him for that too.

Thruth about Lemieux's attempt:
Claude Lemieux has about as much chance of playing in the NHL as I do. This is just embarassing that he thinks he can do this. Working out for a few weeks, and playing NHL hockey are quite different, and I think he'd realize that the first time he got creamed into the boards by a defenceman, and it didn't quite feel the same as it did when he was 25.

Every person on the Earth can call him a douche bag, but to attempt a comeback at 43 is pretty amazing!

Making a comeback at 43 may be amazing but attempting one predestined to an embarrassing failure is far from smart.

I can't help but laugh at this idiotic post filled with silly predictions. Oh wait, that was me?

Embarrassing.

According to the "Working the Corners" blog, he'll be skating on the fourth line tonight with Shelley and Plihal.

When Shelley was asked if there were any Vancouver players he knew of with an old grudge against Lemieux, he said, "I’m sure he can start some new grudges." Should be interesting.

^^ I guess he shut that guy up (assuming he doesn't break his hip in his next game).

I watched the Sharks game last night, up until the end of the second. From what I saw, Lemieux did not look out of place at all, and was quite noticeable on each shift he was on the ice. He was skating pretty damn well, took a nice shot, and threw some hits. I hope he stays with the Sharks, and have a lot of respect for how he can come back after almost 6 years break from the NHL, at age 43. Amazing.

Every time he switches teams, the team he plays for wins the Cup, so my money's going down on the Sharks this year.
